Underrated

Great albums that don't get enough credit.
1Megadeth
United Abominations

Why do people bag on this album? It's got some amazing songs and is
pretty similar to Endgame.
2Death
Spiritual Healing

While not as good as any of Death's progressive metal releases, this is still
a great album.
3Opeth
Orchid

For a debut, this album is near amazing, and the guitar harmonies make it
sound different than later Opeth.
4 Transcending Bizarre?
The Serpent's Manifolds

This is a great avant-garde metal album; if you like Arcturus or Unexpect
you should check this out.
5Gojira
The Way of All Flesh

I'm pretty biased about this album, since it was one of the first extreme
metal albums I ever listened to and is one of my favorite albums, but it is
flawless.
6Heaven and Hell
The Devil You Know

Straight up classic metal. The lyrics are cheesy at times but this is pretty
much modern Black Sabbath.
7Atheist
Elements

I never really saw what the big deal was with Unquestionable Presence,
but the jazz fusion elements on this album are pretty epic.
8Arcturus
Sideshow Symphonies

It may not have tons of great riffs, but Vortex's vocals on this album are
amazing.
9Blotted Science
The Machinations of Dementia

Though it is a generally praised album by those who have heard it, I'm
surprised it isn't considered one of the greatest progressive metal albums
ever. These guys eat time signatures for breakfast.
10Amon Amarth
Twilight of the Thunder God

Much more consistent than earlier Amon Amarth releases, and the melodies
are very good.
