| Mayhem Fest 2013
I went to the first date of Mayhem 2013 yesterday in San Bernardino. I'd rnever been before and even though some of the sets were short and it was rFUCKING HOT, I still had a great time. | 9 | | Huntress Starbound Beast
When we got to the Jagermeister/Musicians Institute stage area they had already
started playing, and they were pretty good. Hearing Jill Janus sing "I Want To Fuck
You To Death" (lyrics by Lemmy Kilmister) was pretty sexy. | 8 | | Battlecross War of Will
I hadn't really listened to these guys before, but their show was a fantastic
surprise. They were really energetic and fun and played really well. I got to
talk to the band members at their merch tent after, they were really nice and cool
guys. I got them to sign the CD booklet and poster I got. If you like thrash or
melodic death metal I definitely recommend you check them out. | 7 | | Job For A Cowboy Demonocracy
I was a bit out of it for these guys because of the heat, but they played pretty
well. I know they kinda started the deathcore craze but their full-lengths aren't
that bad, especially the new one. | 6 | | Machine Head Unto The Locust
I stayed over in front of the other stage while these guys were playing so I could
get closer for COB, but from what I was hearing they played well. I just don't care
for their music all that much. | 5 | | Children Of Bodom Halo of Blood
My #2 reason for coming, they had a short set but they played really well, even
though they weren't as energetic as in the past. I also got them to sign the poster
on the inside of the deluxe edition Halo of Blood CD. | 4 | | Amon Amarth Deceiver of the Gods
They were pretty much the reason I came to Mayhem, and I wasn't disappointed.
The set was also pretty short (only six songs I believe), but the played really well
and their viking longship stage set was cool. Before they played I bought the new
CD at their merch tent and got them to sign the inside booklet, that was awesome. | 3 | | Mastodon The Hunter
I'd never seen them before and I was really pleased with their show, the vocals
were a bit low in the mix but they still played really well. | 2 | | Five Finger Death Punch The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side...
I hate this band. They suck so much. I only give them respect for putting on a
show that their fans would enjoy. | 1 | | Rob Zombie Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor
I don't care for Rob Zombie's music but he put on a really great show, lots of cool
visuals on the screen and set pieces he would come in on or stand on top of. He is
definitely a great showman. Plus John 5 of course. | |

06.30.13 | I didn't bother to put the shit bands I didn't listen to (Attika7, Motionless In White, Emmure, etc.) because why bother. I only saw Born of Osiris for a little bit before I went to the Amon Amarth signing, but they weren't terrible. Even if you only like a few bands, I definitely recommend seeing this show if you don't already have tickets. | sonictheplumber
06.30.13 | pretty much no good bands at this one, last year had slayer motorhead and anthrax but i missed that one too | grish
06.30.13 | yeah i went to last year's, slayer was cool but i wish they'd headlined over slipknot. slipknot put on
an alright show, though. anthrax was cool too but they didn't play i'm the man unfortunately, ha | demon of surveillance
06.30.13 | Those three don't really sound worth sitting through Asking Alexandria and those other terrible bands though. I guess you could just not show up until later. | grish
06.30.13 | i think that band slot was rotating, so the devil wears prada was there instead of aa. i think i saw a bit of their set by chance, but yeah there's no way i would've sat through the entire thing | grish
06.30.13 | oh never mind i guess asking alexandria was there. i didn't see them at all so whatever |
