SomeCallMeTim
08.16.23 | no problem! what would you say some of the influences that went into this were? I really, really like the sound you're going for. |
widowslaugh123
08.16.23 | Hmmm uh not really sure. if you asked each member they would probably say something different but I think we would all agree the cure is a major influence |
Dewinged
08.17.23 | Oh, gotta check this! |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Oh shit dewi hoping for at least a 2.5 from you. Anything less and I’ll be devastated. |
Dewinged
08.17.23 | Incoming 5! |
ArsMoriendi
08.17.23 | I checked 2 songs from it, feels very Ethereal Wave, like Garlands by Cocteau Twins or smthin' |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Whoa a dewi 5? Other than the rock and roll hall of fame that’s like the pinnacle of music |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Oh nice ars don’t know those artists |
ArsMoriendi
08.17.23 | You don't know Cocteau Twins and you made an album like that? :o |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | I’ve heard of em. Should I check? |
ArsMoriendi
08.17.23 | Their album Garlands specifically, it's not my favorite of theirs, but it's the one that your stuff reminds me of:

(That being said I'm gonna listen to your whole album soon, prob tomorrow since you got my interest piqued) |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Ok I’m two songs in and I totally get the comparison. The female vocals, drum machine, spidery guitars and whatnot. Cool dude thanks! Now I got a whole new discography to jam! |
bellovddd
08.17.23 | this is awesome. well done dude |
pizzamachine
08.17.23 | Cool shit |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Thanks friends! |

08.17.23 | This is pretty cool man. The song in Spanish was a surprise. I like your singer's voice, she strikes a nice balance between sinister and sweet. I'm on the third track and I have a question, no bass player and no drummer? |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Yeah the singer plays bass on a few tracks but mostly no bass. And yeah i wanted to try my hand at programming drum machines and shit. I’ve played regular drums in a bunch of bands but the pandemic was a thing so I started fiddling around with drum machines. |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | I’m admittedly pretty bad but I’m improving! I think?! This was just our first batch of songs. Our next shit the drums have a lot more going and and change parts and stuff. |
CugnoBrasso
08.17.23 | Great job, I really like the synth arrangements in Abundance |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Thanks dude that means a lot coming from you. I remember your last project having crazy good keys/synth. Not sure if that was you but they are great |
Trifolium
08.17.23 | Yeah this was looooovely and indeed made me super think of the early days of the Cocteaus which in my book is a very big compliment. So thanks for making this!!! |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Thank you trif you are the lovely one |
ArsMoriendi
08.17.23 | Rated! And I made your band a RYM page so I could rate it there too lol

08.17.23 | Oh hell yeah you are too kind
And thanks for the feature |
SomeCallMeTim
08.17.23 | You saw Wet Velvet here first! |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | Man I know I’m gushing hard over here but seriously thank you guys so much for the kind words. I was hesitant to put this up because I expected a lot of negative reactions like “this is boring where’s the riffs” or something. But sincerely thank you guys for validating my efforts |
widowslaugh123
08.17.23 | If anyone wants to give this sucker a review or soundoff that would be sick. It can definitely be negative god knows I need constructive criticism |
Demon of the Fall
08.18.23 | Damn, this is really good. Seriously my kind of vibe. I'm in agreement with ^ that there are some notable early CT feels here (which is amusing as apparently you've never knowingly heard them). A few curveballs I wasn't expecting too. The vox are especially lovely.
Well done! |
widowslaugh123
08.18.23 | Thanks demon glad it suits your fancy |
Squiggly
08.18.23 | This is quite good. I think the drum machines really make it work more than real drums would. I don’t know why exactly |
ArsMoriendi
08.18.23 | It’s because ethereal wave is back in baby |
widowslaugh123
08.18.23 | Thanks squigg I hope the drum machines work or else I bought all this equipment for nothing |
pizzamachine
08.18.23 | Rate my new song: https://on.soundcloud.com/mo2i32fJQVhsqFERA |

08.19.23 | Ah damn I need SoundCloud. Put it on band camp? |
ArsMoriendi
08.20.23 | Florecer en Silencio is honestly so good, maybe the best on your EP |
widowslaugh123
08.20.23 | Oh nice im pretty sure that was our first song we made. I’ve always felt like it’s a bit weird but every time we play it live we get a pretty good response. It’s really fun to play albeit fairly simple
|
widowslaugh123
08.20.23 | Simple on piano at least. I think the guitar and vocals on that song are bananas |
twlight
08.20.23 | If you ask for a rating, 2.4. Slightly below average
Guitar parts need work, vocalist is good.
I like the structure and mood of the tunes, but the electronic drum beat is basic and uninspired. You and the band have a lot of work to do and practicing. But I like the overall direction so keep it up. |
widowslaugh123
08.20.23 | Ayo thanks for an honest take appreciate it and mostly agree |
CugnoBrasso
08.20.23 | I listened to this two more times and I also enjoy some of the guitars now, like the main riff on Rusted. There are some performance issues (guitars not always on the beat) but they're mostly minor.
I really like Abundance, probably my favorite song on this. |
widowslaugh123
08.20.23 | Oh ok yeah definitely need to learn from our mistakes for the second EP. Hopefully we only get better. Not gonna lie rusted is by far my least favorite. It seemed cool when we wrote it just sounds wack on the record for some reason. |
ArsMoriendi
08.20.23 | The simple piano is why it's so catchy
A song with at least one simple element is good, give the listener something to follow |
widowslaugh123
08.21.23 | Hmmm damn that’s some pretty good musical advice I’ll take that into account |
