06.15.10 | Thanks for the responses guys (possibly girls? who gives a damn?)
Definately not looking for gothic metal. not really my thing, though katatonia and lacuna coil are good on occasion, though I hesitate to call them goth at all.
I'm looking more for the joy division-post punk.. type stuff.
@buckfutter: Mephisto Walz, and The Birthday Party sound pretty much like what I'm looking for.
@Foxhound: diary of dreams sounded interesting, will check that out. I've a soft spot for electronic music
@meatplow: nick cave sounds good, will check that out later. |
Helvete
06.15.10 | oh i forgot
Anathema - Judgement
its not really gothic rock, but its pretty depressing. think Katatonia, but much better |
Buccaneer
06.15.10 | you definitely need some Field of the Nephilim |
silkforcalde
06.15.10 | paradise lost - one second is a pretty good goth rock album, very similar to sisters of mercy
check out Clan of Xymox |
Jonnyborg
06.16.10 | I've got Xymox's album medusa on my computer already. really enjoy it.
Fields of the nephilim, I can't get past the dude's vocals. too over processed on that stuff. or at least on their self titled cd. |
Jonnyborg
06.16.10 | paradise lost sounds good too, from what I could find on youtoob. |
Sabottheory
06.16.10 | Coil - Horse Rotorvator
Death in June - Brown Book
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - From Her to Eternity
Swans - Children of God
Honestly, neither of these albums are your typical goth rock, but it's what occured to me first |
