03.25.08 | Save your complaints. I think the new Protest The Hero exists merely for the purpose for good musicians to prove to the world that they are good musicians and that doesn't equal good music. If they had something original and some substance behind their technicality they'd be on this list and that is what differentiates them from the Mars Volta. |

03.25.08 | Yes, but the difference is that there is a musical purpose behind it. The Mars Volta masterfully plays in and out of the pocket making the song fall apart and come back together. For this reason it is more than just playing something technical to prove to the world that you can play. |

03.25.08 | You should change it to My Favorite instead of implying that thse are the best so far. Clearly they're not so yeah. No Protest The Hero, Meshuggah, or Mercenary ftl. |

03.25.08 | They aren't the best because they aren't your favorite albums of the quarter? |

03.25.08 | Sorry Chan but I mispell alot. Ignore my second sentence, donvr. |

03.25.08 | I was merely foreseeing potential complaints that if I have the Mars Volta up top then I should surely have Protest The Hero as well. So I felt it should be explained up front why that is not the case. |

03.25.08 | Amazing list. Except for the fact i've only heard one of these albums but that is TMV. Definately the best album this year so far. |

03.25.08 | I think Protest the Hero are much better on a musical level than The Mars Volta. What you say about PtH, that they only play to prove they can play and are without substance, that's actually what TMV are to me.
but apart from that, I like 5 a lot, and 10 is quite good too. I don't have anything else here, but I'm planning to get Nada Surf's new album. If I would do such a list, I would include Meshuggah and A Silver Mt. Zion btw. |

03.25.08 | Good call, Bedlam was excellent and still my top album of the year, and Fortress was alright but wouldn't be on mine either. |
