albums i would feel dirty not giving a 5 to (pt I)
1Brian Eno
Ambient 1: Music For Airports

There are definitely some "slower" (read: less good) parts on this album, but the feelings that the good parts evoke and the general perfection of the structure of this album just make me feel dirty if I were to not to acknowledge how perfect this album actually is.
2DJ Shadow

This album was made up /entirely/ of samples. Just think about that. Some tracks definitely don't have the steam (heh) of the others, but you must appreciate how seamlessly Josh was able to bring all of these (relatively) obscure samples together.

Reinvented hip hop. Lyricism has yet to be matched. He didn't have to have lived the "ghetto" lifestyle (see: biggie, tupac...jeezy [lel]) to truly rap about it. Shit is poetry. Doesn't need to be from experience.
4Sigur Ros
Heima (DVD)

Sure, the song choices aren't perfect, and sure, the interviews can sometimes drag, but the overall discussions with the members of Sigur Ros and the performances in fuckin' random ass parts of Iceland or wherever certainly make this such a huge fuckin spectacle to see and easily the best music DVD I've ever seen.
Soundtracks for the Blind

The album that inspired this. Helpless Child is the best song of all time. The motivation and general "whoa" factor of this album just makes it so hard to not appreciate how fucking ridiculous it all is. You could hate half of the tracks, but every single one serves a very important purpose in the overall theme of the album.
6R. Kelly
Trapped in the Closet (Chapters 1-12)

There is a midget. Watch the DVD.
7Rich Boy
Rich Boy

You are a pleb if you don't 5 this. The greatest recent hip hop album.

Let's be real. GOTY. AOTY. AOTC. Have you heard spongebobZen?
