An Aidsy List

What's up sputnik? I went hangliding today it was boss. List is 25 albums I've recently acquired (with a couple of obvious exceptions), working my way through them.
1Drive Like jehu
Yank Crime

I went on a little Fugazi binge last week so I decided to check these guys out too, haven't listened to it yet, what do yous guys think of it?
2This Town Needs Guns

3Zeds Dead
BBC Radio 1 Mini Mix

One of the best dubstep groups/djs/whatever the hell they are, I can't believe they're playing my hometown at the end of this summer. Man, Nanaimo is attracting some pretty incredible dubstep acts. Bar9, Dub FX, Zeds Dead shiiiiiit.

Holy hell I love this
5Fair To Midland
Arrows and Anchors

This is growing on me like crazy, I love the first 5 or so songs. And RIKKI TIKI TAVI, of course.

Not liking this as much as "Endless Falls" but it's still a great listen. This is the drummer from Destroyer's ambient side project. Really nice stuff.
7Blue Foundation
Life of a Ghost

Downloaded this because of the song Eyes On Fire which rules fucking face (you've heard it, trust me, or at least a remix of it)
8Trophy Scars
Never Born, Never Dead

Best hype train of the year shiiiit (unless I can get the Laura Stevenson one rolling). Seriously I cannot stop listening to this, that's how much "fuck fish."
9The Widdler

This needs some more votes, sooooo good. Kinda chill dubstep check him out if you like Clubroot or Swarms (fuck I don't know that's probably way off haha, don't listen to me just ask Deviant or something).
In Light

60% awesome, 40% annoying, rating = 3.5 (tracks 1 and 3 alone are worth checking it out)
11Mr. Oizo & Gaspard Augé
Rubber OST

I haven't seen this movie yet but it looks so fucking good, it's about a killer tire. The soundtrack is awesome anyway.
12TV on the Radio
Young Liars EP

Oh man these guys were SO GOOD live. I'm kind of too lazy to open youtube and find the link but my account name is "aids514" and I uploaded a video of them playing "Will Do" (from the new album) if you're interested. I actually have quite a few concert videos up there.
13American Football
American Football

Took me a while to finally get around to acquiring this, awesome stuff.
14Tigers on Trains

I dunno Sowing, I like this but I don't love it. maybe it will grow on me.
15Tangled Thoughts of Leaving
Deaden The Fields

Some of this is amazing some of it is *yawn*
16Midnight Odyssey
Forest Mourners

Starting to get into black metal, this one courtesy Lucidity (rip)
Ecailles De Lune

purrrrrrrty good
18Bad Brains
Bad Brains

Because claiming to be a fan of hardcore yet knowing pretty much nothing about this band is a crime against music.
19Ash Borer
Ash Borer

Liking this a lot, one of my early favourites on this bm binge.
Within the Vacuum of Infinity...

21Kendrick Lamar
Section 80

Really really good hip hop from this year, kind of sounds like Kanye. The last song, Hiipower, actually alludes to 'So Appalled' (fuckin ridikulus), pretty badass
22Sorrow [UK]
Summer of Love

tss tss tss tss
The Mercian Sphere

I'm told by BallstotheWall that this is black metal for pussies but as Ire can verify I have pretty questionable taste in metal so whatevs, I like this album a lot.
24Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas...

I just downloaded a bootleg of the show I was at (in Vancouver) and listened to it twice yesterday to relive the magic. Find your night of earsex (assuming you didn't NOT go, idiots) here:
25Mountain Man
Made The Harbor

I love this album, have had it for a while, but I just dl'd a track that sputnik user Jash made. He samples "Animal Tracks" from this album (which is one of my favourite songs freaking ever) and turns it into a kickass dubstep track. Check it out here, he's getting better with each track, (the Mountain Man remix is the most recent one)
