My Fave In Flames Songs
My ultimate In FLames Playlist, mostly comprised of newish stuff, I think I prefer it oddly. |
1 | System (Reroute to Remain)
Sledgehammer riff, great mid which gives the chorus immense power. That final chorus is just mind blowing. |
2 | Band Leeches (Come Clarity)
Perfect intro and yet another huge chorus. Impeccable guitar work and one of Anders best vocal performances. Lyrics are superb. |
3 | The Quiet Place (STYE)
Outsider, and vivlified hugely on release, but I love it for its atmosphere and the detail contained in the sound. Also very powerful, and I love the lyrics. |
4 | Come Clarity (Come Clarity)
If you want to know how to do a metal ballad, look here. Has everything, enough said. |
5 | Band Trigger (Reroute to Remain)
Huge riffs, great construction and build up. The chorus is to die for, with the harmonies pitch perfect. Great musicianship. |
6 | Crawl Through Knives (COme Clarity)
My favourite track on here. The chorus might sound a bit like shatter by feeder, but its still massive with the layed production working a treat and the verse riffs some of the best on show. |
7 | Touch of Red (Stye)
Great riff, great chorus, all round good song. |
8 | Cloud Connected (Reroute to Remain)
The perfect arrangement of synth and guitar. This encapsulates perfectly what the band could achieve with the expansion of instrumentation. Slow and chugging, its heaviness is complemented by the spiralling synths perfectly. |
9 | Dial 595-Escape (STYE)
Can see this being a pretty unpopular choice, but I love the expanse of the intro riff and the way the chorus and riff work so well together. Awesome vocal arrangements too. |
10 | Artifacts of the Black Rain (The Jester Race)
Probably the best guitar performance the guys have put in with the intricate melodies soaring throughout the piece. Awesome work. |
11 | Band The Jester Race
Could be in just for the merit of the introduction, with the constantly shifting rhythm guitar under the acoustic inducing goosebumps. That its also a great song and title track just doubles its worthiness to be considered one of the best. |
12 | Borders and Shading (STYE)
Another odd choice, but yet again I love the expanse of the central riff and the verse and mid riffs are extremely heavy too. Middling vocal work, but good backing vocals. |
13 | Dead End (Come Clarity)
SImply the best anti war song I've heard. The juxtaposition of subject nature with those violent riffs, Anders vocals contrasting the sweet female singing that begins each verse, that chorus. Simply brilliant, and intensely powerful. |
14 | Free Fall (Reroute to Remain)
Wow. The heaviness of that riff that intersperses the first verse, the all consuming nature of the chorus, the integration of synths and guitar. Yet another excellent effort which works supremely well. |
15 | Dead Eternity (The Jester Race)
All you need to hear is that riff in the verse to know why this song is on the list. Incredible. |
16 | Acoustic Medley (Black Ash Inheritence)
Proof that the right riffs can exude just as much power in acoustic. In fact, the riffs from Artifacts of the Black Rain and Dead Eternity are almost heavier in this acoustic form. An absolute masterpiece of harmony and instrumentation. |
17 | Metaphor
Seriously, only on here because its a country song. Seriously. THose fiddles just crack me up. Great stuff. |
