| Favorite Punk Bands
This is a list of my favorite punk rock groups. I will make an attempt to list them in order of preference. | 1 | Rancid
I began listening to Rancid in 7th grade, after being introduced to them by my friend Kevin. I fell in love with their raw sound as soon as Maxwell Murder came on the stereo. Tim lyrics are fresh and poetic. The voices of Tim, Lars and Matt are the most suitable punk rock voices I've ever heard, and they can basically play any genre and still have their own unique sound. Rancid is and always will be my favorite band of all time. | 2 | Operation Ivy
The first punk/ska band I ever heard. This music will always be relevent, and will always be a fun listen. | 3 | NoFX
My introduction to politically driven pop punk. I bought War On Errorism as per suggestion from a friend, and loved the band ever since. | 4 | Streetlight Manifesto
Thomas Kalnoky is the best writer in ska music, hands down. The musicians are great, and yes i said it, their recording of Keasby Nights kicks the shit out off Catch 22's | 5 | Lars Frederiksen and The Bastards
Well Lars is in it. What other explanation do I need to give? I love Rancid and evrything the members do, they just have one of the most amazing sounds I've ever heard. | 6 | Dropkick Murphys
Celtic punk is amazing, and in my opinion these guys do it the best. | 7 | Dead Kennedys
They're are so fucking cool, that's about it. Their lyrics are witty, and satirical, their music is catchy and still manages to have characteristics of hardcore, and everything they've ever done is just so full of energy. | 8 | Gogol Bordello
One of the most unique and original bands of the genera. Eugene Hutz has one of the coolest voices in punk rock. Their Lyrics are fun to sing, and the music demands that the listeners dances. | 9 | Minor Threat
These guys were pioneers. Ian Mackaye has the coolest hardcore voice ever, and their music is always fierce and full of emotion. | 10 | Bad Brains
Three words "Banned in D.C." Awesome lyrics, great musicians, and a great voice from HR. | 11 | Transplants
Probably belongs further up on the list. But because they have hip-hop influences Im not gonna stress as them as one of my very favorite "punk" bands. Tim is awesome, Barker is awesome, Matt Freeman even did work with these guys, and skinhead rob is a cool guy too. Very original, very cool, I love it. | 12 | Koffin Kats
Saw these guys at a Rancid show in Detroit. My all time favorite psychobilly band. I love the attitude, the sound and the energy of their music | 13 | The Flatliners | 14 | Reel Big Fish | 15 | Suicide Machines | 16 | Bomb the Music Industry | 17 | Descendents | 18 | Nekromantix | 19 | Arrogant Sons of Bitches | 20 | The Vandals | 21 | Flogging Molly | 22 | Distillers | 23 | Band | 24 | Band | 25 | Band | |
