9 Years Ago Today

I joined Sputnik!!!! Unbanned just in time to celebrate! I'll do something ah never diddly done before, add descriptions to these 9 recommended albums!
1Coheed and Cambria
The Second Stage Turbine Blade

Okay if you've known me since I was Kripes then you should know I used to have a huge hard on for Coheed. I haven't listened to them in like 5 fucking years and I still haven't listened to another band more than I've listened to these poppy grinding fucks. Hearshot Kid Disaster and Elf Tower New Mexico are still some of the most passionate songs I can think of when it comes to music in general. Plus I learned to play Hearshot on guitar and that's badass
2The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Stadium Arcadium

If you think I have a weird username .... you're right! It's from the song of the same name found on disc 2 of Stadium Arcadium. It's a downright metalized funkfest of Chili Pepper mojo hamma time god damnit!!!!!

This is my all time favorite band and the band that knocked off Coheed and Cambria as the band I considered my favorite before Anberlin. I would honestly put Anberlin's discography up against the Beatles and expect myself to choose Anberlin in the end. The lyrics make me question my life and decisions in the best ways possible and the music is enlightening or energizing or engrossing or enraging, and always so undeniable
Tomorrow Come Today

This is the band that keeps me interested in hardcore oriented music and social political commentary although let's be honest it kind of was rather vague the last few albums. Still awesome shit to rage to no matter which album
No Heroes

Truth be told I've talked more shit on Converge than any other band because, well, first things first I don't talk shit on a whole lot of bands. It's just funny to see how pissed Converge fanboys get when I talk shit on how shitty all their albums are. But in actuality, Converge is a band I consider badass. "Grim Heart/Black Rose" is still one of the best songs I've ever heard and I can rage out to Axe To Fall easily. I wasn't the hero they wanted, I was the villain they needed to remind them how much Converge actually does not suck.
Magnetic North

Most criminally underrated and under marketed band of all time. Huge cult following from multiple time periods of the bands existence. If you like spacey music and post-hardcore is a genre that doesn't immediately turn you off. This band's entire discography is actually essential.
We Do What We Want

Great vocal harmonies from two great singers. Actually just one singer on this album I listed, but all the others have two singers and the new one coming out has both lead cleans back in action. Look out for that shit!!!!
8Tim McGraw
Live Like You Were Dying

I'm from Oklahoma okay? I haven't even left this state since 2006 and I went to fucking Texas. Give me a break... This is a great album full of many different songs and Tim actually breaks the stereotypical mold of modern country lyrics believe it or not in many different ways. (find out for yourself bitches)
9Wiz Khalifa
Blacc Hollywood

What can I say? It's my sputnik birthday. Go dumb smoke one to the face. White House higher than Willie Nelson!
