I'm listening to this album for the first time right now. It's excellent, but I knew it would be with the all star combo: cannonball, miles davis, hank jones, sam jones and art blakey. Doesn't get much better than that. |

I've never been a huge fan of bass solos in jazz, but Mingus puts together such killer groups that it hardly matters. I haven't listened to this one yet, kind of putting it off because I know I'm going to enjoy it so much I'll stop listening to anything else. |

I believe this album was named by NPR as the best album of 2007. Two superb classical guitarists that I'd never heard of, it's impressive how tight they stay without any kind of rhythm to play along to. Tahhiyya Li Ossoulina is especially good when about halfway through it morphs from a more traditional classical style to a crazy guitar body thumping percussion driven beat. |

I love OCMS and found this album recently at a used CD store. It's been out of print for several years now and I couldn't believe my good fortune at finding it. It's awesome and I particularly enjoy the early versions of a few songs that got released on later albums in different arrangements. |

One of my friends has been practicing Girl from Ipanema for solo guitar for a long time now and got me interested enough to finally buy this album. I've always been drawn to Bossa Nova and this is a great album to finally really start getting into it. |

This is a 1968 show that COOKS. The band is on fire the whole way through, blasting off into space with insane psychedelia. I can't get enough of 1960's dead and this is from a year that doesn't have very many high quality recordings. |

This is the dvd that documents the highlights of the 1980 Radio City acoustic/electric run. I've only listened to the acoustic songs so far but they were phenomenal, especially the bird song. |
