Shows

i've gone to over the past six months.
1Saul Williams
The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust

trippy watching him freak out live in broad daylight at 4pm
2Sharon Van Etten
Are We There

too much material off the latest (shite) album
3Perfume Genius
Too Bright

grand show, and he finished with a very touching duet with Alan, his partner and keyboardist, covering Neil Young
4Sister Nancy
One Two

phenomenal show at a tiny venue. a dozen people were kicked out for smoking up during the show.
5Alexisonfire
Crisis

well, twenty minutes of it or so, left soon after they started. shite band and awful live. went to see the Distillers, it's a drag they have to open for these gits.
6The Distillers
Coral Fang

her voice still rips. they went for it. she was wearing the exact same leopard print jeans she wore when i last saw them 16 years ago, and looked as sexy in them.
7GZA
Liquid Swords

performing for the 25th anniversary of Liquid Swords.
8Bikini Kill
Pussy Whipped

tickets booked for show in Toronto. beyond excited.
9Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada

not a huge fan of the band, but they put on a semi-decent show, that was marred by a continuous collage of cliche stills of burning buildings rolling on the screen in the background, and the fact that they were all sitting down like geriatrics.
10Tool
Lateralus

scored free tickets for their show on Feb 1st that coincides with my trip to New Orleans. will be scalping the hell out of them, band are utter dogshit.

EDIT: did it, and did it.
11Tanya Tagaq
Toothsayer

Incredible show. She was backed by a symphonic orchestra and a brass section, and they kept merging into this crescendo that seemingly wouldn't stop rising, and then suddenly, it all stopped and she finished the show with a ten minute improvisation. there were people crying everywhere in the theatre. powerful perfomance.
12Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds
Abattoir Blues/The Lyre Of Orpheus

tix already booked for the brooklyn dates of their fall tour.
