AEW Double or Nothing 2021

Watched the AEW Double or Nothing PPV w/my daughter last night. I was sick as a dog, but it was still a good show.
1Sirenia
Riddles Ruins and Revelations

Sirena Deeb beat Riho to retain NWA Women's Title

This was a little bit of a random match - there was no back story for it, and it was a late addition to the card. I would have had more interest if they'd have had Abadon fight Deeb, but whatever. It was a well fought and executed match.
2Hangman
No Ashes In Our Autumn Bloom

Hangman Adam Page beat Brian Cage

This was actually a face turn for Cage, as he refused the help of the Team Taz and consequently lost the match. Great job on commentary by Taz, and a hard fought match.
3Buckshot
The Formula

The Young Bucks beat Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston to retain the AEW Tag Team Titles

Another strong match. I was actually hoping they'd give the belts to Moxley and Kingston, but I should have known better, as Moxley's wife is due to have their baby any day and I suspect he'll be taking time off. Was a little sad to see them actually get the pin on Moxley. But I did enjoy when Moxley and Kingston made the Bucks eat a bunch of the paper streamers that were shot off when they came out.
4Jungle Fever
Stayin' Alive

Jungle boy won the Casino Battle Royale, defeating Christian Cage as the last other remaining participant for a future shot at the AEW Championship Belt. I thought they were going to give this one to Cage, but this was actually a pleasant surprise. Jungle Boy probably won't win the Belt this time out, but he's a definite future champion.
5Gatsby's American Dream
Volcano

Cody Rhodes beat Anthony Ogogo

A pretty good match, although they've been really overhyping Ogogo as if he's Mike Tyson. (He was a Bronze Medal Winner of Olympics boxing - doesn't that mean he came in THIRD!) Rhodes took on his father's moniker of The American Dream for one night, but I could have done without the whole villainous foreigner badmouths the US angle. Is the UK our enemy now? Really?
6Miroist
CURVE

Miro beat Lance Archer to retain the TNT Title

This was one of my favorite matches of the night, although I was kind of hoping that Kip Sabian would show up and cause Miro to lose the title. But it was a good battle of the behemoths, and there was even some Jake the Snake and his snake-in-the-bag interference.
7Dentist
Night Swimming

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. beat Hikaru Shida to win the AEW Women's Championship.

This was another of favorite matches of the night. Shida is an excellent wrestler, but Baker has the biggest personality in the women's division, so I'm glad to see her win the title. A hard-fought match.
8Sting
Ten Summoner's Tales

Sting and Darby Allin beat Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page

An OK match, this was Sting's first time in a regular wrestling match in 6 years. Darby was a maniac, as always.
9I, Omega
Transients

Kenny Omega beat Pac and Orange Cassidy in a threeway match to retain the AEW Championship

I never really thought it would end any other way, but it was still a very good match, and Orange almost won it a few times.
10Inner Circle
State of the World

The Inner Circle beat The Pinnacle in a Stadium Stampede Match

I enjoyed this year's Stadium Stampede match - it was a little more toned down and less Marx Brothers zany than last year's. And although it was mostly a cinematic match, they also fought their way back into Daly's Place for a live ending, with Jericho beating the crap out of MJF at the top of the arena and Sammy Guevara pinning Shawn Spears in the ring to win it. It was great to see Sammy get the win - it's about time he gets a title belt. Now it will be interesting to see if The Pinnacle Buff Bagwell's Spears for losing.
