One of my personal fave albums of all time. 11.01.20 | The Moon - Really Diva? You made this theme only to give us a children's channel song? 2.5/5
Kung Fu of the Astronaut Drunkards - Good old 8-bit n-word wankery. Lost its charm after about a minute. 1.5/5
Hibikasete - Aww, sad Johnny makes me sad. But then again I bet he likes being this kind of sad and that makes me happy. The song. Was there a song? Oh right, there were some pleasantly boring sounds. 3/5
A Love from Outer Space - Don't really like the singing or the melody or the instrumentation. But I bet this inspired Mew to make some of their worst songs idk. Argh there's still two minutes of this to go and it just gets more and more annoying. 2.3/5
Dwarf Nebula Processional March - Ah, the Arsest of recs. Probably great if you never do drugs? 1.2/5 |

11.01.20 | I can actually answer that question - it was something of an in-joke between Dave and his wife, based on something his mother said to his wife one time. It definitely wouldn't be the song Dave would want to represent him to people unfamiliar with his music, but it's one of my two favorite Dave Isaacs songs.
Within the context of my beautiful musical-in-development, Eyeball Eaters From Outer Space, the song is sung by Will, the character who would normally be the hero of the play, to comfort his girlfriend Gayle, as they are lost in the woods and trying the evade a serial killer. Sadly, this is just a little before my space aliens tear out his eyeballs and eat them. But at least he lives until the end of the musical, unlike most of the other characters. |

2. Kung Fu of the Astronaut Drunkards - 2.0 - Oef I'm getting anxiety attacks from the mix alone. Sorry dude the bleeps all over the place are really not for me.
3. Hibikasete - 3.8 - I dreamed off a little, which is a complement. Wonderful little song.

But then Zappa lost his charm for me, and I never did. So let's see. Weird ass intro, not without its charm. Now it kind of sounds like an orchestra warming up. Oops, there's one of those stops you know I love so much. We've moved into King Crimson "Moonchild" country. The beginning was OK, but the whole second half was just random noise. 11.08.20 | An Pierle and White Velvet - I won't lie, this one has me intrigued. I'm unfamiliar with both of these artists. Slow opening, quiet musical background. Good female vocals. Mid-tempo. Less artsy than I expected, which is good. An actual song, not just a bunch of barely related ideas, which is also good. I can hear where the Kate Bush comparisons come from. I like the overall song, although I can't say it's fully bringing it home for me. 3.2 |

11.08.20 | "King Fu of the Astronaut Drunkards"
Bold move starting off with a Windowlicker music video pre-song dialogue sample. Now it's just video game music. If I wasn't such a subjectivist, I'd say that this hardly counts as a song.
2/5
"Hibikasete"
Floaty guitar and sweet Japanese vocals so far. Can't say that I'm in love with this, but it's pleasant so far.
3/5
"I Am the Cosmos"
I do not like these vocals at all, but the music is good. I'm getting used to the vocals a little, and the song's still cool, hmmm.
3.5/5
"A Love from Outer Space"
Rhythmic as hell. This is a pretty typical 80s new wave track, but it's good so I can't complain.
3.6/5
"Celestial Voyage"
The progressive metal instrumentation already lost me and now it's growling. Oh damn, Gamecube era Sonic the Hedgehog guitar soloing. This is lame.
2/5
"Jupiter"
I like her voice and I like the bass. I like how spacey the background is, in a space-age pop kinda way. Oh wow, this is like a modern-day Kate Bush. It's so lush and full. It keeps adding new layers, but they all fit. Good song.

11.08.20 | Cynic - I should love this band, but only about half of what they do appeal to me. This has sweet riffs and good drums, but also iffy vocals and songwriting. 3.2/5
Jupiter - Lovely and I liked it a lot. There is indeed some weird dissonance at times, but I think it works.
You should review this, bet many sputters would love it.
3.8/5
Venus - Damn they're cool. I want to be in that band. Thankfully this sounds extremely easy to learn on guitar. Owww that fadeout hurt. 4/5 |

8. Jupiter - this is very nice. 3.5
10. Giovanna Hardcore - another pretty good myss keta song. 3.0 |

11.11.20 | Love Spirals Downwards - I know I've listened to these guys in the past, but I can't for the life of me remember any of their songs or what they sound like. OK. Kind of chugging electronic percussion and keyboard, followed by a slow guitar intro. Pretty nice. An ethereal female vocalist. I didn't remember that. Very nice. 3.6 |

11.14.20 | The Carpenters - I always thought this was a weird pairing, The Carpenters, who were known for light, easy listening pop with a cover of this song by the Canadian prog rock group Klaatu. Even the 7+ minute length was pretty atypical for The Carpenters. Nevertheless, Karen Carpenter's lovely voice works nicely for the song. It's a kind of choppy, but I'd still give it a 3.6. |

City Moon - I hope they're gonna play this at my hospice so I can die peacefully in my sleep. 2.3/5
Sadeness - Ooh I grew up thinking this song was neat. IIrc it introduced the infamous Gregorian pop wave. It sounds just a little boring now. 3.2/5
Mars, The Bringer Of War - Yeah, that's the stuff. I've heard Neptune a million times. Wish there was more classical music like this. 4.3/5 oh shit I guess I have problems
Satellites - I've always been afraid to listen to this band and it seems my fears were well founded. The drum sound alone :( 2/5
The Killing Moon - I know this song, but I had no idea who made it. Nice stuff, not too exciting. Oh it was in Donnie Darko, that's prolly where I got it. 3.7/5
Planet of Sound - Ah yes now that's the stuff. Did I mention I think Frank Black is a genius? Bonus for song length and it doesn't even feel short. 4.2/5 |

11.16.20 | i dont mind thinking that but we have ars saying "Now it's just video game music. If I wasn't such a subjectivist, I'd say that this hardly counts as a song." and i dont think we'd hear that about any type of rock music on this site. we need some serious diversity in electronic! |
Egarran

11.16.20 | "Venus"
This song is so good, it made me check their album At Home a few years back. The of the album is mostly meh though with some highlights. The chorus so is catchy and I love how the acoustic guitar and blues guitar are both used.
4.3/5
"Giovanna Hardcore"
The beat so boring and the way she hoarsely shouts "fuck" makes me hate this.
1.9/5
"City Moon"
Yup, it's 90s shoegaze alright. Nothing unique or captivating for the genre, but not bad. Pleasant is always a good quality.
3/5
"Sadness (Part 1)"
This sounds familiar and I like the percussion. It's simplistic but catchy and I definitely have heard this before. I like it, but I don't love it.
3.3/5
"Mars, Bringer of War"
The strings and percussion feel like rain droplets and the brass is epic like a Star Wars intro. Weird mix, but it's working so far. If I was more into classical stuff I'd probably love this, so uh...

3. Hibikasete
nice melancholy vibe. perhaps a little overlong but not bad at all 3/5
4. i am the cosmos
big star fuckin slaps, havent heard this one though. basically feels like a big star song though, which obv isnt a bad thing at all in my book. good one 4/5 |

11.16.20 | "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft"
Is it weird that I don't like the Klaatu version? This version took a bland pop song and made it awesome though. Karen's voice is powerful and the background music is epic. Progressive pop I suppose. The middle reminds me of ELO haha. Every section of this is prettier than the last. Good song.
4.2/5
"Satellites**"
I mean the lyrics are endearing, but everything about the vocals and instrumentation is just ugh. This is like Muse and I don't like Muse.
2/5
"The Killing Moon"
Is my brain broken because everyone seems to love this song except for me? Is just kinda 80s rock with a thick English gothy vocalist and I don't know it's FINE.

11.17.20 | Pixies - Don't tell Ars, but I'm afraid I might disappoint him today. I've never been a big Pixies fan, although I suppose "Monkey Gone to Heaven" is OK. But maybe they'll surprise me. OK, Pixies, what have you got? Driving guitar, half spoken vocal. Some annoying bursts of guitar wail in the background. Really picking up the energy on the second chorus. I like the guitar, I don't like the vocal at all. It's only 2:09, so it doesn't wear me out. OK, I can go as high as a 3. |

11.19.20 | Hi friends, I know I was late for this, but this theme is just.... it is my everything. I am an astrophysics major, inspired by the sight of Saturn through a telescope at an observatory in Texas when I was 5. Space and science has followed me throughout life and my first ever college class was astronomy. Jules used to call me their "Elon Musk" to their "Grimes" though we both knew it was sort of an insult. Anyway, this month has been hard, and this theme means so much to me.
If you will accept it, I would like to rec a bonus song. My favorite song of all time of his, and one of jules' favorite artists of all time.

11.20.20 | Television - This is another band that seems to be much more revered by music people in general than by myself. I even have this album, but I don't remember the song, so let's give it a go. Hmm. Over 10 minutes long. Strike one! Strummy guitar. percussion kicks in. Crappy vocalist starts singing, doing his best Patti Smith imitation. Oh, yeah, I remember that guitar run. Kind of like that one. I'm leaning towards a 3 right now - I like the song, but don't like the vocalist - but we're still less than 4 minutes in, so that could drop. (I guess it could go up too, but somehow, I feel they're more likely to annoy me than to wow me as the track gets longer.) OK. Mostly harmless extended instrumental break, and the less time listening to this singer, the better. Maybe my score WILL go up. Over 7 minutes in, and we're sitting at about a 3.2 right now. Maybe even 3.3. Yeah, they gave me about a 5-minute break from whiny boy. Good choice. OK, hats off. 3.3 |

11.22.20 | Telemetrik - Yet another band I've never heard of. But I've been on a roll lately, and it's Tri's pick, so I'm hopeful. Rapid beat electronic music. A little spoken word, like a TV documentary. (Is that Carl Sagan?) Geez, that's a lot of bio for one little album on the Sputnik page. (Btw, it's a solo artist.) This is OK, but to me, it's just kind of random space music. 3.0 |

11.22.20 | gonna be very lazy and score a few tracks I already know:
7) Celestial Voyage - Razorsharp riffage and dumb spacevox and a waste of a guitar solo paha classic Cynic 3.0
10) Giovanna Hardcore - Lol I love hearing her say "hardcore" in that smex smex Italian accent + bonus points for music video 3.5
16) The Killing Moon - Mmm this is a great song but it's the lazy kind of great song that drops a great verse and a great chorus and then goes nowhere. As far as such things go, it ain't Money Machine! 4.0
17) Planet of Sound - Um yeah Pixies doing dumb riff-rock, slightly underrated album and fun song 3.5
19) To the Moon - This album is 75% decent and 25% superb to me, and this is probs around the top of the decent pile. Solid enough but not representative of any of the qualities that make Sweet Trip so special 3.4
20) Marquee Moon - I love a lot of this album, but it's been a hot minute since I last jammed this. Some classic lines and leads on here for sure. 3.7
30) Moonage Daydream - Uh yes incredibly classic stuff 4.2 |

11.22.20 | "I Lived on the Moon"
This makes me think of Radiohead so far. The pickup is pretty different and spacey. Meh song, but bonus points for pleasantness.
3/5
"To the Moon"
Catchy guitar line, good bass, this is off to a good start. I usually like the interplay of indie male and female vocals together, but here it feels kinda generic. Good instrumentation though.
3.8/5
"Marque Moon"
I'm probably long overdue for getting into this band. The way Verlaine's voice cracks are so similar to Patti Smith. Whenever I hear Television I'm like "this is male-led Patti Smith Group." I like the guitar and the drums quite a lot. The bass is fine, but not really a standout. These solos in the middle are simple, but pleasant. I know that this is technically "art-punk," but kinda like with a lot of Smith's work, it does come across more like blues rock. Honestly, it's a bit long-winded for what it is, but I definitely like it regardless. Oh yeah! It came back from the begging after the jam, always a good choice.
4/5
"Star Rider"
I think you've played this song for me before. Forgive me, but this is very corny and dated for something from 2017. Especially those synths. I really don't like this.
2.5/5
"Cosmos"
Hello sped up Amen Break. Hello Carl Sagan. Okay, now it just sounds like 90s big beat music. This is pretty cool though. It's aggressive, dancy, and has a fun atmosphere. Maybe better suited at a club though.
3.5/5 |

11.22.20 | "Giovanna Hardcore" - 1.0.Should I say anything?
"City Moon" - It may sound (very) odd, but this song has kinda "hangover" vibes: like just laying around to exist, while this song is going on in the background~ Weird, association, I know. Anyway, it was good (literally). 3.0
"Sadness (Part 1)" - The gregorian chants with a basic beat was an interesting combo, but somehow worked out quite nicely. It was too long, tho. 2.9
"Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" - Hell yeah, it was cool. I loved the lyrics! It was a bit... nostalgic too, even though I'm quite sure I've never heard this - will check more stuff from them later, for sure. Have a 4.2!
"Satellites**" - I never really liked this band. 2.4
"The Killing Moon" - Ah, I know this one! Dunno where did I hear it tho - maybe as a movie soundtrack? Anyway, it's good. 3.2
"Planet of Sound" - Please, just don't tell anything. 3.0
"I Lived on the Moon" - It was alright, the song felt it wants to reach a certain epic climax, which (too bad) never happened. The vid was cute tho! 3.0
"To the Moon" - I don't like the vocals :\ 2.5
"Marque Moon" - Almost 11 minutes? Aight, imma lay down for this... (lame band name). So, it was good, I guess. I say less could have been more, but not bad. 3.3
"Cosmos" - Rhythmic stuff. Nice, I guess. 2.8 |

11.26.20 | Iron Maiden - Haven't listened to a lot of these guys over the years. Album cover has the Grinch on it, and it's not even Christmas yet. Vocal intro followed by -- violins? synth? Plus heavy guitars. I really don't enjoy this kind of vocal. Guess those were synths earlier. Apparently this is a late '80s album, and it was the first time Iron Maiden used keyboards. I like the song and the lyrics, just not the vocals. Hmm. I see this song was based on a novel by Aleister Crowley. Now THAT's interesting. 2.7 |

11.27.20 | The Kovenant - Busy intro. Raspy vocals. At least there's keyboards, along with the guitars. Really hard to take these vocals seriously. He's half singing, half vomiting. Oops, just got faster and even busier. I like the album art. Think he just threw up blood. Hmm, female backup singers at the end - wish they'd been there all along. 3.2 |
Egarran
11.27.20 | To the Moon - This reminds me of A Triumph For Man by Mew. Which means it's very, very nice. 4/5
Marquee Moon - Post punk was never at all my scene and I notice those 10 minutes with some trepidation, but it starts ok. Vocals a bit too much. Music nicely proggy although it's too tinny and lengthy for me... 3.2/5
STAR RIDER - What so you all knew this song or what? And how is this from 2017? And why it does it get so silly at the end? Fun stuff 3.5/5
Cosmos - Yeah that's some hard d'n'b. Nice Sagan quote and I can almost feel the synthetic taste of ecstasy. 3.1/5
Sun Vs Moon - Yeah this was a lot better with lyrics. Very amusing.
God's not a woman
He's a bitch 3.5/5
Moon Beam Heart - This month takes us to all the decades. Late 80s you say, yeah and that beat is 90s I believe. But this don't do much for me. 2.8/5
I Wish I Was the Moon - Mmhh I feel older now. 2.7/5

11.28.20 | Gonna finish out the month this morning, just coz.
Opeth - So far, I just don't love this band as much as lots of other people, but let's see. Tasteful acoustic opening, and then the electric guitars fire up. Nice. Now a change in direction. Uh oh. What the fuck was that? Orc vocals. Damn. It was going good there for a minute, too. I don't even remember these guys doing Orc vocals on the CD I have of theirs. Oh well. I don't know. This song is just kind of drifting along. Then it changes directions, seemingly arbitrarily. Not really doing anything for me. 2.2 (Sorry about that zak.)
Tierpark - Mid-tempo guitar, followed by female vocals. Pretty. Presumably South Korean, since Soundcloud says "Tierpark Seoul". It also say #Experimental, but it doesn't sound all that Experimental to me. Sputnik lists it as Post Rock and Indie Rock. Guitar is kind of nice 4 minutes in. I guess maybe the structure there gets a little experimental. Anyway, pleasant. 3.2
David Bowie - Bowie being Bowie. Or more accurately, Bowie being Ziggy. OK, but not my favorite. Gets kind of cool towards the end, though. 3.3
Jesu - Hmm. Kind of trudging, mid-tempo beat. A lot of cymbal. The vocals are mellow enough, but there's something quietly abrasive about this track. I think this one isn't for me. 2.2 |

11.29.20 | "Sun Vs. Moon"
I don't know, this is fine I suppose. Boring mostly.
2.5/5
"Moon Beam Heart"
A house beat with some tropical percussion. This would be fun at a club I suppose, but I never hear Songs of the Day at clubs. I wonder what a Sputnikmusic themed dance club would be like if run by the electronic fans here. Probably lots of The Knife in it.
3.2/5
"I Wish I Was the Moon"
Very pleasant alternative country so far. This was actually pretty cool.
3.5/5
"Moonchild"
This is 80s heavy metal I don't know. I'm bored. Iron Maiden just reminds me of my friend's annoying Republican uncle who is close-minded to legit everything that he's not used to. Lame band, not just because of who it reminds me of, just the entire aesthetic is so crusty.
2/5
"Bringer of the Sixth Sun"
More lame metal, but this time with guttural vocals. This band is tagged industrial, but this song clearly isn't why. Not too ugly actually, but totally boring.
2.5/5
"Under the Weeping Moon"
Cool acoustic guitar work, but knowing Opeth it's going to lead into some bland prog metal soon and yep there it is. Man, these are some angry alien chicken vocals. I used to feel bothered by songs with vocals like these and annoyed by riffs, but now I'm just BORED, though I'll admit the bass is cool here. Thanks, bass player! +1 for you.
2.6/5
"Pluto"
Pretty vocals and pleasant guitar and bass. This is cool, but not amazing.
3.4/5 |
ArsMoriendi
11.29.20 | "Moonage Daydream"
The emotional vocals, bright piano, and warm acoustic guitar make this great. The progression into a cool woodwind section and the strong chorus make this a glam rock classic.
4.9/5
"Under the Milky Way"
This is chill so far. Decent and very 80s pop rock.
3/5
"Mother Earth"
This is fine. Heavy shoegaze, I suppose.

11.29.20 | 25 I Wish I was the Moon - This is nice. She obviously has a great voice, but i can't say i feel too invested into the song. 3.0
26. Moonchild - decent metal song i guess. i was pretty bored though. 2.8
27. Bringer of the Sixth Song - I really love the main riff here. really nice symphonic touches too and the extravagant solo is cool as well. I see that i really disliked their song from the SOTD a few months ago, but i'm loving this. 4.1
Under the Weeping Moon - Not to upset the sputgods, but this will be first time listening to opeth. pretty nice intro that turns into cool riff. I have a hard time with death metal vocals though, they often sound kinda silly to me and i'm afraid these are no exception. Really cool bass too. This song did feel like different parts put together in a clumsly matter, I am missing some cohesion. Most parts are nice enough for a 3.0 though |

"Sun Vs. Moon" - I'm not a huge hip-hop fan, but I liked this! Have a 4.0
"Moon Beam Heart" - Yay, ti was retro! Nice. 3.4
"I Wish I Was the Moon" - Becoming the Moon would be boring as hell. Like spending millions of years while running circles...! I had very neutral feelings towards the song. 2.5
"Moonchild" - Dewi with a dad metal rec. Too bad I was never really into Maiden. It felt like a Dio song, but less "grandiose". It's good I guess. 3.0
"Bringer of the Sixth Sun" - Awesome budgie rec, as usual. 4.2
"Under the Weeping Moon" - Good album, good song. 4.0
"Pluto" - I'm not a big fan of the mix, the guitars are waaaaay too much on the right side. It was especially annoying with headphones. Bot otherwise it was a chill song. 3.0
"Moonage Daydream" - Nice song. I liked how rich and diverse it is. 3.5 |

11.30.20 | Moonchild - Love the band ofc, but I never got much into this album. I just can't deal with that keyboard. 3/5
Bringer of the Sixth Sun - I grew up with this album and it saved my life many times. An absolute favorite. And despite what you think I don't just say this to gain favors with budgie. Although he is a vision to forever dwell by the grace of the sun. 5/5
Under The Weeping Moon - More or less the same as above, just substitute budgie with Trifo. 5/5
Pluto - Sounds great, but the singer feels way too safe. Wish she let loose a little, esp at the end where they actually reach a nice climax. 3.7/5
Moonage Daydream - I 5d this album because it's undeniably a classic, and it's more or less the only Bowie I put on voluntarily. But this song ehhhh; nah it's fine. 4/5
Under The Milky Way - What tasty vocals. I like. 4/5
Mother Earth - I swear I've tried a lot to like this band, but it never clicked. Ok song, but it's sooo draggy. I understand why it's popular suicide music. 3/5 |

12.03.20 | I suppose I owe it to you all to submit my thoughts on these songs. I have been compiling this over the past few weeks. This has been the best month of SOTD so far.
The Moon - Dave Isaacs - I didn’t really expect such a relatively modern sounding song, this is very 90’s with a bit more polish. Are the lyrics corny? Of course they are, but I have always been a heart on the sleeve type of guy. Especially when it comes to stuff like this, it fills my heart with hope from time to time. 3.9
Kung Fu and the Astronaut Drunkards - Neat Beats - beautiful album cover. This song is simple, but I find the video game noises to be hypnotizing. However, those samples are… They’re just not very good for this song, are they. 3
Hibikasete - Advantage Lucy - I remember my very first class in college as an adult, Astronomy. I was so excited to join that class and learn from someone so smart. I recall talking about the Oort Cloud in class, and asking a question to my professor about it. He didn’t know what it was, and that is when I realized that professor didn’t care/or he was dumb. Anyway, this is a wonderful song. I wish it was on Spotify because I could listen to it over and over again and just stare into vacancy. 4.3
I am the Cosmos - Chris Bell - Speaking of heart on my sleeve, this song made me cry. A Lot. Fresh wounds form strong bonds. This has some major 80’s indie rock vibe, like a natural progression from Big Star. I love this. I love this a lot. 4.9
A Love From Outer Space - A.R. Kane - I am surprised a song like this has escaped my ears for this long. Space? Love? 80’s pop? Sign me up for this. It sounds like something I could listen to in any mood, from sad to happy. Plus this has some MST3K theme song vibes. Sha-la-la. 4.1
Dwarf Nebula Processional March And Dwarf Nebula - The first half of this song is absolutely lovely. Then it falls into some tape manipulation; maybe I have been falling asleep to too much Nurse With Wound lately, but this isn’t very bothersome, and it makes for a neat little track. 3
Celestial Voyage - Cynic - I believe this is the first Cynic song I heard back in highschool, I was excited to find a death metal band doing something different. The real highlight here is the break halfway through the song, before it devolves in a bit of wankery. I like this song quite a bit, but it never… felt complete, it is missing a certain something. 3.5
Jupiter - An Pierle & White Velvet - this is…. Whimsical. The instrumentation is so interesting and beautiful. The vocals are definitely a situational thing for myself, but I still quite enjoy them. This is a lovely piece of work 3.8

Minushuman24
12.03.20 | Venus - Shocking Blue - lmao I knew this sounded familiar. Ars told me I needed to check this out a while back, and I really had no desire to hear that hook ever again. That being said, it is far more bearable in this song. If this song had not been ruined for me, I would love this a lot, groovy sounding, and those vocals just after two minutes on the bridge are lovely. 3.3
Giovanna Hardcore - Myss Keta - ‘ardcore 2.9
City Moon - Love Spirals Downwards - Dreary, Sexy, Sad, Beautiful. Hard not to like this song quite a bit, will definitely return to this. 3.7
Sadness - Enigma - I think I am listening to the right version of this. It is certainly spacey. Kind of a hip-hop new age hybrid going on here. It reminds me a whole lot of Dj Okawari. I would have loved this more in high school, when I listened to him a lot with Nujabes. The more I listen to it, the more its late-80’s influence shows itself, which is not a bad thing. 3.4
Mars, Bringer of War - Gustav Holst - Ahhhh, another triumphant classical song, classical songs are always, always hit or miss for me. The first 4 minutes of this track are void, it is just fine. But it is all about that amazing second half of the song, the triumphant climax. Sorry garbear, but it isn’t a 5 for me, but it is still certainly “classic”. 3.7
Calling Occupants - The Carpenters - Strange, but dope opening. The melody for this song is beautiful, I am unfamiliar with this song, but it is familiar at the same time. This second portion to this song is just simply perfection, wow. 3.9
satellites** - Enter Shikari - hm. This song confuses me really. It is very much a pop punk-electronic song with some heavy radio vibes. Which normally I would wanna trash, but the melodies of this song are undeniable. There is so much that this band that I hate, but somehow…. It all works out for me. I can see everyone hating this, but this is pretty god damn commendable in my eyes…. Shit I may listen to it again at some point. 3.3
The Killing Moon - Echo & the Bunnymen - I don’t really know what there is to say about this song. This has been one of my favorite songs for a very long time now, and it will continue being a song that brings me to another plane. Melancholy beauty. 5
Planet of Sound - Pixies - Not one of my favorite “rocking” pixies songs, but it is still a kick in the teeth for sure. 3.8
I Live on the Moon - Kwoon - Simple and elegant. A lovely, albeit short listen. 3.1

Minushuman24
12.03.20 | To the Moon - Sweet Trip - A sweet trip indeed. I never got into this band too much, but I do really like this song. I feel I could form a definite bond with this band, and this just confirms that suspicion more. 3.9
Marquee Moon - Television - ooh, how the darkness doubled... The line between annoyance and hypnotic is a fine one, and this song has never failed to hypnotize me. No matter the length of the song, I have never skipped away from this song. It feels like I remember every night I have driven along to this song, staring blankly at the highway in front of me, I remember bringing my nephew to school and this being one of the regular songs we would listen to. It is truly a marvel. I was listening…. Listening to the rain… 5
Star Rider - Hallas - I love that guitar tone, but I am not in love with the “star ridah” hook. Seems a bit too… cheesy, and it ultimately clashes with the beauty of everything else. I do really like this though outside of that complaint. 3.7
Cosmos - Telemetrik - this is definitely drum and bass. I like it, but when it becomes too high energy it loses that spacy magic it started out with. 3.2
Sun Vs Moon - Sage Francis - Classic alternative hip-hop right here. Not exactly captivating, but it is fun as fuck. 3.5
Moon Beam Heart - Lone - This is okay, it doesn’t really leave an impression on me at all, unfortunately. 2.7
I Wish I Was The Moon - Neko Case - Another song I would expect to not do well with this group. Simple heartache and desire. 3.9
|
Minushuman24
12.03.20 | Moonchild - Iron Maiden - I could never really get into this album as much as everyone else it seems, but I mean, it is Maiden, so it still kicks unrelenting ass. 3.9
Bringer of the Sixth Sun - The Kovenant - I can tell already how dorky this will end up being. It is a black metal song, with symphonic elements. That’s really all there is to say. 2.9
Under the Weeping Moon - Opeth - Well here goes ten minutes of my night. It has been a couple years since I heard this song though, so I will keep an open mind. The riffs: Negligible, the solo: forgettable, the vocals: Mikael. But fuck… I forgot about that passage 3 mins in, which erupts with a beautiful climax that Mikael fucking nails. Too bad it is bookended by several minutes of extraordinarily boring music. 3.1
Pluto - Tierpark - And I appreciate this song. Exceedingly beautiful. Another song I wish was more readily available for me. 3.9
Under the Milky Way - The Church - Certainly sounds familiar, and this is absolutely up my alley as an adult. I can see myself driving around to this song, it pulls on the heartstrings just enough. 3.8
Mother Earth - Jesu - I’ve had this album sitting in my itunes since high school. I’m glad I am hearing it for the first time now, because I don’t think my adolescent brain could connect to the simplicity of this song, its ugly elegance. A lovely track to float into the void too. 4
