5 "Djent" albums for people who don't like "Djent"

So you're looking at this list and may be thinking; "Why the hell did this guy just call it "Djent" this is 2015 right?" Well, This is a list of 5 bands/albums that is simply nothing more than metal but was slapped with the label "Djent" by a young and upcoming community of metal guitarists looking for something unique to call themselves. It's use of a guitar tone combined with heavily influenced grooves by the band Meshuggah for whatever reason became what is known to many as "Djent." Regardless, here we are in 2015. The dust has settled and a few gems may have gotten buried in the dirt. I've done the digging and I hope you enjoy.

4.3/5.0 Okay, So I won't lie I am a bit biased with this one. That said, this album isn't perfect but I think it is a good entry album. I won't say much other than.. The pros: Incredible vocals, great use of layers, grooves hard. Cons: The riffs are a bit repetitive at times.
2Disperse
Living Mirrors

4.2/5.0 Jacub Zytecki showing off his modern metal and jazz fusion influence well in this one. It paints a beautiful landscape. It's filled with great atmosphere, tasteful guitar leads/solos, and just enough groove and riffs to keep things interesting (for me at least).
3Chimp Spanner
At the Dream's Edge

4.0/5.0 This earns an easy 3rd on this list for me for two primary reasons. First, It gets fairly 'progressive' at times, and well I'm in to that kind of thing. Second, it's got quite a bit of guitar leads that gives off a kind of Satriani/Vai vibe. And well, I'm sucker for that too.
4Uneven Structure
Februus

3.9/5.0 The lyrical work and overall flow of this album is why I placed it 4th. IMO, a bit underrated by the 'djent' community. It does however have it's flat moments. Regardless, it is a solid album. I recommend reading the lyrics while you listen.
5Vildhjarta
Masstaden

3.6/5.0 The dark and twisted cousin of this list. It's definitely not for everyone. It's spontaneous riffage, chaotic placement of melody, dissonant chords are certainly an acquired taste for some. I however believe it deserves a spot on the list for at the time.. it's unique take on the sound.
