I hate being around people (even friends) that know I tripping and they aren't. Most usually try to do stupid shit like wave their hand in front of you like "ohhh look your tripping balls." That shits annoying as hell. I am probably in the minority with liking to be in public places so if that's not your thing have some trippy music ready and if you find yourself with tons of energy I like to skate or play drums or hike or something like that. It is truly a "thinking" drug even if you feel quite scatterbrained while you are peaking. Main thing is AND I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, just go with it. Grooveologist 12.10.13	Personally I think spring and summer are better times to trip, going outside and into the woods is great. If you're inside and listen to music, you will find out yourself what kind of stuff is appropriate for you. Very, very unlikely that it will be any of the stuff you picked above. I wouldn't do it alone by the way and I would pick someone I really trust. It can be an experience of overwhelming richness, but you might also be confronted with things inside yourself that are not so pleasant to deal with. It's an intimate meeting with your subconscience and I can tell you that people you think are fun otherwise can be really ruining it for you when you coincidentally meet them while tripping. Choose a good place and company, make sure the environment's fitting and you'll be in for a good time.

demon of surveillance 12.10.13	my only experience with acid was taking two tabs in september, but it was freaky. the full-on high lasted about 16 hours and the after-effects lasted up until about 32 - 36. make sure you dont do it alone, make sure you have lots of activities to do, and ABSOLUTELY do not get lost in your own thoughts too much.
skeames1214 12.10.13	it probably wasn't the amount you took, it was the quality that let you down. I've had good acid and bad acid and the difference is immense. Mushrooms are a bit more consistent, but the potency still varies quite a bit.

If you have a buried psychosis (no idea if this is the correct term, I'm not a native speaker), the acid can bring it to full bloom. I remember having worked on some experiences for months afterwards, as just so many things pop up in such a short time-span. To me this is a very serious, adult drug. It can change your view on certain things for a lifetime. Partying around with it too much without taking time for reflecting afterwards can easily cause mental harm.

In this day and age, true acid is very scarce and it's likely that what you actually have is some kind of hallucinogenic research chemical. Be careful and don't take a large dose. LSD isn't typically harmful but some of the newer chemicals can be.

I think you have that innate ability when you're young, too." this is the craziest thing about psychs it's just so mindblowing and hard to understand when you are in a normal, everyday sober state, even if you've had that experience yourself it's hard to even recall those seemingly clear thoughts about reality afterwards. i wonder if that has to do with the drug impeding short-term memory while on it, or simply our egos returning and blocking out that learned information. fuck psychs are crazy. i'm not sure if i'll ever partake again. there is a very good modern-day philosopher who's name i can't recall at the moment, but he said: "once you get the message, hang up the phone".

guitarded_chuck 12.11.13	after my last experience i thought that it would actually be mentally / spiritually beneficial to trip every 2-3 months as a time for reflection and introspection; to feel grounded. that experience was in i believe august and right now i'm not sure i want to return to that place, even though a lot of important events have occurred since that it would be interesting to reflect on in that ego-less state of mind. i kind of feel like meditation would have similar benefits as a good psych trip.
skeames1214 12.11.13	Meditation is great for self-reflection, but by it's very nature (you're stationary, experiencing very little sensory input) it's hard to have the kind of sweep-you-off-your-feet moments that a heavy dose of psychs is almost guaranteed to give you.

I've tripped on DXM before and while that's completely different, I know what it's like to come to terms with the ego and the dissolution of it. It's truly wonderful. As for the people who have said they had fun while experiencing some scary moments, that's just what makes these drugs so awesome. Like Terence McKenna said (paraphrasing), a great experience is something that's fun, crazy, humorous, sad, frightening, and happy all at the same time.
