Incredible - this is basically all i wanted making this list, which is kind of unfair because i have been listening to a lot of the drones lately and this is drones-man, but this isn't really a competition and so it isnt really unfair. Need more n more time to digest this one but the storytelling here is honestly probs better than even the drones stuff. J'adore. [4.3]

When I was a kid Joanna Newsom would have been the ideal girl for me. If we had been in school together I would have always tried to get the seat next to hers in biology class so we could laugh and giggle at anatomy diagrams, or I would stand near her in the lunch queue, or even give up my space in the lunch queue so she could get the best choice of chicken breast. I would have tried to look deep and thoughtful by frowning a lot and growing a fuzz moustache and scratching ironic cries for help in to my desk. She would no doubt have spurned my somewhat creepy and stalker-like advances with just as much indifference as she would have spurned my chivalrous actions as she would have been, on the evidence of Ys, far too deep a thinker for my teenage brain, fascinated rather than amused by anatomy, and ironic and funny without having to pretend.

She would have been my kind of girl because she was non-threatening, highly original in her thought process, creative, alternative, smart,

I did the s/t because the other one was 400 hours long and honestly i haven't sat with this one for a long long time. While I do certainly prefer the tones of lioness, the lyrics on this one are most definitely better. In particular, those first 3 songs always trick me into think this will become a personal favourite but it do be sort of fall off. Still, great stuff :3 [3.5]
