06.29.13 | Do not have any good recs, but at all costs, do not get Beats. If you like to travel with you're headphones, they break in a few months. |

06.29.13 | some shitty ones that don't even work always. apparently Philips, definitely don't buy these ones |

If you're looking to spend big money definitely head over to head-fi.org first and make a thread asking for suggestions. |

06.29.13 | yeah, head-fi is a good place to stop before deciding. i ended up getting sennheiser momentums after hanging around there for a couple of weeks. what's your price range? and is your pie chart a good indication of what sort of music you'd be using them for most of the time? |

06.29.13 | beyerdynamic dt770s are well worth the money if you have a headphone amp, they sound awesome and are basically indestructible to boot |

06.29.13 | Second Dem M50's, nicest headphones I've ever owned but I also have ATH m40fs and ath ckm50a's, guess you could say I like ath... I have a pair of koss pro dj 100's and sennheiser OMX 180's. |

06.29.13 | sound like senn HD201's, thumb. I have a set of those too. A bit too chunky to take out anywhere but I have them on quite a lot in the flat or the house because, as you mention, they are good value |

Yeah, I'd say my pie chart is a good indication of what I'll be listening to, dagrish. And I'll definitely check out head-fi. |

06.29.13 | I currently use Studiospares M1000. Not bad headphones with good sound, but the lead can get in the way quite a bit. |

06.29.13 | you might check out the logitech ue 6000, if they have them at your local best buy you can try them out. also sennheiser amperior, maybe momentum too |

06.29.13 | akg 518 LE are a great set of portable headphones. they previously retailed for 150$ and are now like 50$ which is so worth it if you listen to a lot of genres. super well balanced aside from a slightly lacking high end but pretty cheap so dgaf |
ncguitar
06.29.13 | Audio Technica ANC27. They sound great, but the noise cancellation is a hassle (it produces hum when the computer's charger is plugged in). |

06.29.13 | For on the go, the ones that came with my phone. Pretty good sound quality. For when I'm at home I use my Turtle Beach's. |

06.29.13 | These 20 dollar Sennheiser's I found on Amazon
I mainly just use them for long car rides and plane rides, though. Otherwise I'm mostly listening to music at home |

06.29.13 | You should get the Grado PS1000 |
ILJ
06.29.13 | sennheiser hd 380 pros. great closed cans and they have a phenomenal low end on them. they definitely need at least a low end amp though. picked 'em up off ebay as refurbs for $110 and it was a superb deal
my first pair were senn hd 518s. great starting open cans and they sound great without an amp, though you'll get the best sound out of them if you do have one. as with all open cans though, they leak a fuck ton of noise so avoid them if you plan on listening in quiet places with a lot of people nearby. |
oresttt
06.29.13 | Westone UM2 In-ears for mobile use. They rule.
At home I mainly listen through my 2.1. system which has a decent sound but isn't too spectacular. |

06.29.13 | Audio Technica ATH-M50s |
ncguitar
06.29.13 | Question for those with Active Noise Cancelling headphones: why do mine produce hum when they're plugged into any device with a charger plugged in? |
Maniac!
06.29.13 | because you're silly and got active noise cancelling headphones |
ILJ
06.29.13 | what maniac said. |
ncguitar
06.29.13 | Well, it's not the standard humming; it's more like a buzz that goes away when the charger is unplugged.
And yeah, I regret a bit buying ANC's, but it's a bit late for that lol. |
ILJ
06.29.13 | the current from the charger probably goofs with the component that produces the anc hum a bit. that's just a theory though |

06.29.13 | i just use ones that suck and usually listen to music in my car |

10.16.13 | Teufel Aureal. Pretty good Headphones for 99 $. I'm not able to spend more on stuff like that, altough I'd certainly would like to. Listened to DSOTM on some 900 $ Bose Earphones once and I still get an eargasm the moment I think about it.
I'm not complaining though. To only spend 99$ is definitely a first first world problem |
