Fantasy Mlb 2012

God my team is going to slay. With a combination of talented youth, bonafide sleepers, veteran arms and bats and potential breakout allstars my team looks good on paper. I'll be first or worst. The gambles I took are worth it. Im still thinking about picking Adam Dunn off the waivers, I feel he'll have abreak out year.

C. Buster Posey. Prior to breaking his leg against the Marlins Buster was tearing shit up in his limited stay in the majors. Healthy and turning 25 soon, Buster is a top 3 catcher to have. Good for average, power, runs and hits.

1b. Eric Hosmer. My first and most questionable pick according to my peers. Breakout 22 year old Miami native for the Royals. When healthy he was a beast. Expect good average, good to great power, plenty of RBI's, runs and for an added bonus stolen bases. I have Kevin Youkillis and Kendry Morales as my backups and utility role. When healthy...they tear shit up. Once more, health is essential for these guys to produce wins for me. If these fail my secret weapon...23 year old Brandon Belt of the Giants should have a monstrous year and become a high first round draft pick for years to come.

2nd base. Howie Kendrick. 28 year old second basemen with good pop, average, RBI'S and moderate stolen bases. Had a career year last year but now with Pujols backing him, Kendrick should have an even beastlier year. He also can play as an outfielder and 1st basemen.

The Golden Year

SS...27 year old Troy Tulowitzki. Nuff said.

3rd base. 22 year old Brett Lawrie for the Blue Jays. Everything is in the cards for this young man to rise in the ranks and become a high first round draft pick for years to come. A great combo of power, speed, hitting for average, producing RBI's, and stealing bases. Kevin Youkillis can sub as my third base backup.

Utility. Soon to be 26 Billy Butler can provide enough pop, average, runs, and RBI's to be an efficient utility man. Youkillis is my other and im debating whether or not I should pick up Adam Dunn. I think he'll bounce back.

OF...my biggest question mark. After one breakout year Kendry Morales went down with injuries. This could be a great sleeper pick for me if he reverts to that one magical year. Jayson Heyward, another sleeper I feel could return to form. Only 22 and healthy he will be back with a vengeance. Stolen bases, power, RBI's, runs, hits, etc. Kid has great potential. Drew Stubbs, another project. One plus from last year is that he had 40 stolen bases. Only 27, this could be a bounceback year. Austin Jackson from the Tigers is only 25, improved his mechanics and poised to have a great year, adding Prince Fielder to the mix also helps. I also drafted Bryce Harper because i'm a flashy asshole and because I love this guys attitude. I'll hold on to him until he enters the majors...probably June. If he starts living up to the high expectations when he comes, i'll be the smuggest asshole around.

Starting Pitchers. Tim Linceum, Matt Cain, and Ubaldo Jimenez, still in their mid to late 20's. The first two are the aces of the leagues premier pitching staff.Lincecum is Lincecum, and Cain is the most dependable number 2 to have. Their win total should improve with the bats of Brandon Belt and Buster Posey. Throw in a sub 2 era and high strikeouts and you have two elite pitchers. Ubaldo Jimenze I drafted as asleeper hoping that he would return to that one magical year. He's healthy this year and in a different ballpark. If he starts to fizz out i'll drop the motherfucker. I have other pitchers to replace him.

R.P. Kyle Farnsworth because he's a bad motherfucking mama jamba, in more ways than one and the Dutch Kenly Jansen. Relief pitching varies from year to year so worst comes to worst i'll scour the waivers should these guys fail me.

Pitching. 25 year old Yu Darvish......yeah i'm still "that guy". Drafted him solely for posturing purposes. If he puts up a decent season i'll be content. I got the Nationals' young gun Jordan Zimmerman. If he much like the Nationals live up to their pre season hype then I should be rewarded. Mark Buehrle should continue being himself, and I hope that Trevor Cahill and Chad Billingsley return to all-star form. 24 and 27 years old these guys have the ability to return back to being elite.
