A Very Romulus 2011

didn't get around to too much this year but theoretically if i made a 2011 list it would probably look something like this. i am 100% sure i'm forgetting something so if someone accurately informs me of something i am missing i will give them great pleasure
19ASAP Rocky

if i get the album title right this list is a success
18The War On Drugs
Slave Ambient

this should probably be higher but i have listened to it a shockingly small amount this year for how good it is (gonna go listen now)
17Crash of Rhinos

okay guys this is not the album of the year but it's quite lovely
16Red City Radio
The Dangers of Standing Still

because this owns
15The Men
Leave Home

better than immaculada. hopefully they progress even more on their next one which is due out like tomorrow
When Losing Everything is Everything You Wanted

actually just heard this like a week ago but sneaking in at 14 cause it's real good
13Frank Ocean
Nostalgia, Ultra

way too high cause an an album this is pretty poorly put together, but i may have listened to frank ocean more than anyone else this year
Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang

how is kendrick lamar ahead of this? damn
11TV On the Radio
Nine Types of Light

binged hard on this over the summer but then discovered their other material and it lost a bit of pizzazz
1040 Watt Sun
The Inside Room

warning > this > most things
9Kendrick Lamar
Section 80

hol up is definitely one of my songs of the year
Hurry Up, We're Dreaming

but if you take the highlights from this and condense it it's #1
7James Blake
James Blake

was my favorite for a fair part of the year
6Joyce Manor
Joyce Manor

for some reason i'm uncomfortable with having this so high but this was summer 2011
5Bon Iver
Bon Iver, Bon Iver

because justin vernon (also beth/rest owns fuck all you guys)
4Future Islands
On the Water

because this band can do no wrong
3The Antlers
Burst Apart

probably listened to this the most this year because it is the antlers
2Bomb the Music Industry!

my gut wants me to put this #1 but nah.
Old Raves End

i am very uncomfortable anointing this my "album of the year" but it really is fantastic and i think it's better than these albums? difficult to call it my favorite though, if that makes any sort of sense
