12.19.11 | It's hard to say about Podolski. He might think he's king of the jungle in Koln but he failed a lot at Bayern. I always thought he should have started more often, he was literally third choice striker but he was playing some great football in the games before he left. He is capable, but lazy. |

12.19.11 | I'm generalising a bit then. Didn't recall that game but I remember him having a pretty bad track record in the knockout stage of the CL. ^
He's so devastating against decent/poor teams but lacks in the big games (a bit like Ronaldo against Barca). The teams he plays for always seem to win their domestic league too but I don't think he's ever won the Champions League. Arsenal are probably capable of knocking them off but I honestly can't make the call because I never get to see Serie A anymore.
And Napoli is a dangerous tie for Chelsea. |

Arsenal aren't playing the way they were 2 or 3 seasons ago; they've reverted to an almost Man U-style attack spearheaded by RVP and don't play anywhere nearly as comfortably/complacently as they used to in the opponents' half. I still don't think Mertesacker was a great buy but he fits their new manner of play much better than he ever would have their old.
I don't know how it's even possible to be a Barcelona fan and not expect great things... |

The very fact that no one has ever won back to back Champions League titles is huge motivation, if they manage it then I don't think there'll be any question that they're the best club side in history. They'll be putting all their energy into winning the CL and saving their best performances for that tournament. |
