Albums From My Childhood (that I Still Love)

I can thank my young parents for most of these. I listened to all of them rbefore age 13 (born in 1990)
1Van Halen
Van Halen

Year: 1978. One of the few classic rock albums I was exposed to and it still
shreds hard today.
2Prince
Purple Rain

Year: 1984. My mom has always been obsessed with Prince so I'm pretty
familiar with all of his material, but Purple Rain is really the only one of his
albums I listen to anymore.
3Beastie Boys
Licensed To Ill

Year: 1986. Beastie Boys are are awesome when you're a kid
4De La Soul
3 Feet High and Rising

Year: 1989. My dad was pretty big into hip-hop in the 80's. He's shown me
a lot of terrible rap albums from then but this sure as hell isn't one of them
5Nine Inch Nails
Pretty Hate Machine

Year: 1989. I've listened to this so many times and It's still awesome.
6Public Enemy
Apocalypse 91 The Enemy Strikes Black

Year: 1991. My dad is blacker than he looks
7Dr. Dre
The Chronic

Year: 1992. I listened to 2001 quite a bit too but this is definitely better
8Stone Temple Pilots
Core

Year: 1992. Dead and Bloated was my favorite song for awhile.
9Rage Against The Machine
Rage Against The Machine

Year: 1992. One of my favorite albums of all-time. I never get sick of it.
10Beck
Mellow Gold

Year: 1994. My uncle was super into Beck
11Weezer
The Blue Album

Year: 1994. You have to love the blue album
12No Doubt
Tragic Kingdom

Year: 1995. I'm glad my parents showed me this, but I'm still mad that they
made me listen to Rock Steady as many times as they did.
13Cake
Prolonging The Magic

Year: 1998. Such a random band for me to listen to when I was 8
14Red Hot Chili Peppers
Californication

Year: 1999. I know this album by heart.
15Daft Punk
Discovery

Year: 2001. Found out about this from Toonami
16Gorillaz
Gorillaz

Year: 2001. Such a unique album. Me and my friends would sing Clint
Eastwood on the playground.
17Tool
Lateralus

Year: 2001. I heard Aenima when I was younger, but I didn't really get Tool
until this came out.
18System Of A Down
Toxicity

Year: 2001. The heaviest thing I had heard at the time. SOAD was my
favorite band for years after this came out.
