Albums I Love Pt. 4
Okay so we're to the 90's by this point. I could literally fill approximately 15 of these lists so per usual we'll keep it to 1
album per group. There will be plenty I've left out feel free to add
them and voice your weak outrage below. I'm intending to
eventually make a few of these so keep in mind I'm limited to 100
for today. This may stretch into 89 as many of the 90's greats
started in the late 80's. As usual enjoy sputbuds. |
1 | | Primus Frizzle Fry
Really their first 4 albums are good - great but FF is my favorite. |
2 | | Tool Undertow
I love their entire discog but I can still remember my friend introducing us to
this fabulous brand new album. And I never looked at music quite the same
way again. |
3 | | R.E.M. New Adventures In Hi - Fi
A group that has is so diverse in their originality that no group of people
can agree on their best album but this one is my favorite. It is an album
from a band mid-transition and starkly contrary to anything else they've
done. |
4 | | Dambuilders Against the Stars
Ever since seeing them open for Better than Ezra (a concert I didn't want to
go to) many moons ago I have loved this band. In the 90's they were one
of the most well known alt/indie bands you've never heard of. The lyrics
from the first two albums will speak to anyone mid-twenties or younger but
this, their final album is where they truly shined. |
5 | | Nine Inch Nails Broken
Love the full discog, helped shape music for me, nuff said |
6 | | Prick Prick
It's a pretty well known story for any NIN fans. Prick is an older ex band
mate of Reznor's from his days in Cleveland (if memory serves) and Trent
gave him a hand with his album once he was in the position to do so. It is a
great an quirky album that is very well known in my circles. |
7 | | Bad Religion Generator
Love most of their discog but this one carries the most memories for me. |
8 | | Violent Femmes Why Do Birds Sing?
I like all their albums with the exception of their last one:
Unlike most people this is their first album I listened to. A group of guys
were listening to the self titled album while skating a half pipe in the middle
of Amsterdam. When I asked a girl in our group what they were listening to
she handed me this on tape and said I needed to listen to it, yes...
cassette tape ;^) |
9 | | Madder Rose Bring it Down |
10 | | Belly King
Their first album "Star" is great as well spawning their first video that was
picked up by MTV "Feeding the Tree". This album however was far more
polished and really showed them pushing for their own sound. |
11 | | Magnapop Hot Boxing
Rubbing doesn't help is also a great album but this one for me is just an tremendous 90's alt album of Epic proportion. I fucking love chick led alt
bands... I probably should have pointed this out earlier :^/ |
12 | | 7 Year Bitch Gato Negro
Raw music about raw topics... great band imo. |
13 | | L7 Bricks Are Heavy
This and Smell the Magic are fucking legendary. |
14 | | Lords of Acid Voodoo-U
Cult Classic... not best seller. |
15 | | My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult Sexplosion!
If you can't enjoy this you may be dead inside. |
16 | | Hole Live Through This
Man am I glad Kurt made this a good album. |
17 | | Pearl Jam Vs.
Originally titled Five Against One (I had the Tape) a lot of people hated this
follow up to the legendary Ten. I always liked it and it has some of my
favorite songs on it. |
18 | | Pearl Jam Vitalogy
PJ gets 2 because it's fucking PJ. Spin that black circle you winy bitch. |
19 | | Nirvana Incesticide
My favorite Nirvana album isn't even an LP... go figure. |
20 | | Alice in Chains Facelift
Dirt is a better album IMO but Facelift has all the memories and some killer
tunes to go with them.
Recomended: the whole discog jackass. |
21 | | Soundgarden Badmotorfinger
Like the last one I think Superunknown is a better album but
badmotorfinger has all the memories. |
22 | | Stone Temple Pilots Core
For me this one is it. After Core (for me) they really just became more and
more of a joke with each proceeding release. I could not care less about
these guys but This was a great album. |
23 | | Bush The Science Of Things
It took me years to warm up to these guys. They just always seemed so
simplistic and we're talking grunge here. Sixteen Stone is their best album
but within this album lies their best song. I love Letting the Cable Sleep end
of story. |
24 | | Foo Fighters The Colour And The Shape
Dave Grohl isn't just a drummer? |
25 | | Incubus Make Yourself
conversation once held with my BFF who worked third shift at a local grocery store:
Friend: "So these dudes cam in to the store tonight. I was just ringing them
out and then they were like hey... we're incubus".
me: "Who the the fuck is Incubus"?
Friend: /shrug |
26 | | Lush Lovelife
Spooky is a good album too but this is the one I enjoy more.
P.S. Hot chicks are hot. |
27 | | The Verve Urban Hymns
Looks like we're gonna do some Brit bands now ;^)
Album needs no description. |
28 | | Oasis (What's The Story) Morning Glory?
I fucking hate these twats and I'm not even much of a fan of their music but
I'll give them some credit. Because I'm not a twat, like they are... twats.
Fuck these guys piss me off........... now I'm just pissed.
cunts! |
29 | | The Stone Roses The Stone Roses
Okay, here we go this is much better. I love both of their albums btw. |
30 | | Elastica Elastica
I love this album. It's always bugged me that this album never did better
here in the states. |
31 | | Blur Blur |
32 | | Mr. Bungle Mr Bungle
Again, it's the album with all of the memories. |
33 | | Frank Zappa Läther
Loves me some Zappa. |

Polished and funky. |
35 | | Ben Harper Welcome to the Cruel World

57 | | Sarah McLachlan Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
Great library this one. |
58 | | Fiona Apple Tidal |
59 | | Barenaked Ladies Gordon |
