| Meatplows Spotlight Vol. 1
So every week or so i'll listen to 3 albums in a row which i've dug out of my collection really loud through expensive headphones in a dark room and detail my experiences here. | 1 | | Laskfar Vortok Multiplephemerautism
So I stumbled across this at random searching 2010 albums on what.cd where clearly the guy who made it himself had uploaded it, I was immediately assaulted with a furious blend of breakcore and noise which didn't let up. I was somewhat impressed, this time around it felt a little disjointed and at an unnecessary length. I have a feeling there is better stuff of this nature, I just don't know where to look for it. Any suggestions?

New rating - 3 | 2 | | Chris and Cosey Heartbeat
Analogue synthpop with some nice ambient touches from two of the key members of industrial music pioneers Throbbing Gristle, sign me up. I have always enjoyed Hearbeat but this time around it really struck me as immaculately constructed, tracks such as Moorby and This Is Me are beautiful in a dreamy New Wave synth kind of way whilst stuff like Manic Melody is utterly disorientating. Only loses points by having a cheesy production at times, this is part of the appeal in a way.

My love for J.G. Thirlwell has not gone unnoticed on sputnik, his one man industrial project has always had a ferocious bite to it through his black humour and Nail is often seen as the Foetus magnum opus. I beg to differ (1988's Thaw would be my personal choice), however it is still one of the most important 80's industrial recordings and there are plenty of moments on here I just can't help but smile at everytime I hear them (Descent Into The Inferno being one of them). Album is so much fun, production might be a little flat for some though despite the amount of intricate layers of sound there is.

05.23.10 | cool idea, though none of these sound like things I'd enjoy, I really like where you're goin' with this | Sabottheory
05.23.10 | I really need to hear some Foetus. | Meatplow
05.24.10 | I will attest to that ;) | Sabottheory
05.24.10 | Listening to The Throne of Agony right now. Sounds like a cross between Nick Cave and Tom Waits singing over a sample from Mission Impossible. Awesome. | Meatplow
05.25.10 | lol never noticed the similarity to the mission impossible theme, its spot on though
glad you liked it, get Hole and Thaw as well then branch out from ther | Meatplow
