Yazz_Flute 01.27.10	haha any time man. If you can get into the harsh vocals you should enjoy most of these as they're pretty melodious (with the exception of Meshuggah which I just put in because they're fucking crazy and polyrhythmic and whatnot)

TheSpirit 01.27.10	Needled 24/7 would've been a bad choice. If it was anything off HTDR (which it shouldn't have been anyway) It should be Bodom Beach Terror. But for best Bodom it has to be either Bodom After Midnight, Hate Me!, Warheart (actually anything off Hatebreeder or Something Wild)
Deathcar 01.27.10	Agreed, FTR, Hatebreeder and Something Wild are much better albums, but HCDR is more mainstream/arguably easier to get into for the non-metal listener.

Yazz_Flute 01.28.10	AA would've been a good addition too. I tried to stick it with bands that have melodious clean sections/choruses or a more thrash/punk influenced sound. In Mourning and Meshuggah being exceptions but he was interested in Meshuggah and In Mourning is about as accessible as death metal can be.
Emim 01.28.10	I concur with Machine Head, good intro metal.
Yazz_Flute 01.28.10	I put the Lotus Eater over say...Bleak because it's an excellent example of what they are now. Best song on Watershed, and it's pretty diverse as well. I figured it'd be one of their easier "death metal" songs to get in to.
Dystopic 01.28.10	Definitely Amon Amarth becuase they're fairly linear in terms of their sound, should ease your friend into it.

Yazz_Flute 01.29.10	Haha I was going to put A Servant or House of Sleep on this originally but took it off at the end, they seemed slightly out of place to me. And this cd was more for bands that include harsh/growled vocals. I might make a cheesy prog/power metal later. Pain of Salvation is fucking great though.
DXMdizzy 02.01.10	Personally i think you should replace DEP's setting fire to sleeping giants with DEP's the perfect machine. To me it's a better example as to what their all about, in terms of technicality and all that jazz. Also you should definetely put something from one mastodon's two most recent albums, to me that music proves the maturity and syphostication of the metal genre.

Yazz_Flute 02.01.10	I was just trying to get him into metal in general, and I picked 10 becomes it's very much accessible. I wasn't trying to get him in DeP, and i'm pretty sure he wouldn't be big on their "normal" stuff, yet at least.

Yazz_Flute 02.01.10	He hasn't listened to it all yet but he liked 1 haha. I burned him Aim & Ignite by Fun. at the same time and he listened to that a bunch of times because it was more up his alley.
