06.22.22 | reddit.com/r/rabm is pretty useful too |

06.22.22 | i was bummed about that one and a few others on the list |
TheSpirit
06.22.22 | Yeah that is a cool list on RYM |
pjquinones747
06.22.22 | was totally unfamiliar with rym until now! ill have to do some perusing |
TheSpirit
06.22.22 | it's great for cataloging and lists like this |
FR33L0RD
06.22.22 | I only care about their music ( lyrics, dont care either), nothing more, nothing else.
I dig all kind of philosophy including politics, elsewhere. Cheers! Nice little list btw m/// |

06.23.22 | Thanks free! Just picked 5 names I like off of that site. |

06.23.22 | Does it matter? The whole scene revolves around repulsive and negative thoughts and actions and vibes. Do I listen to NSBM? Not really as a rule, I can't enjoy the views expressed, but I think if there is a genre left in the world that's entitled to express generally shunned ideas, it's Black Metal.
Also there is WAY more Non-NSBM / artists that actively shun NSBM in the Black Metal Scene than NSBM bands. |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | "Entitled" might be a weird word to use when what they are promoting are anti-semitism and white supremacy lol.. Sure "freedom of speech" but people who cry freedom of speech when it comes to shit like this are lame as hell. Being an apologist for NSBM at all is pretty lame too but go ahead and do your thing man. |
JeremiahBullfrog
06.23.22 | I'm not into NSBM really or against it, I'm also certainly not going to die on any hill for them. They're big boys who can make their own decisions and it will not affect my undying love of BM is all i'm saying. |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | I guess that's fair. I know plenty of casual emo fans who still listen to Brand New without thinking too hard about it despite how shitty Jesse Lacey is (sexual misconduct is different than being natsoc but i'm encompassing all "cancelled" or shunned music). His lyrics are far too cringe for my taste also knowing what he's done, but I have my own artists who are shunned that I still listen to as well. Idk anyone who still listens to lostprophets though lol |
CaliggyJack
06.23.22 | I don't really care bout the views expressed long as the shit is good.
I mean I'm a Christian with Jewish ancestry, I'm pretty much hated across the whole spectrum of BM so it doesn't matter to me. |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | BM makes it easier by nature since nobody pays attention to what the vocalists are saying anyways. Although when folks like Nergal brazenly tell the public his new song is about cancel culture that does make me cringe a bit haha |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | Not like recent Behemoth is BM anyways |

06.23.22 | The older I get the more I am willing to just separate the songs from the artist’s political shit |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | I'm in league with you on that. May not seem that way given how I posted this list but for me it was more out of curiosity that I read it and I figured there might be others who'd appreciate knowing this exists. |
Gameofmetal
06.23.22 | You can separate it all you want with your music habits, just don't play stupid when people tell you some of these motherfuckers are actually acting on their dumbfuck politics. Like I give a shit that there's some pasty white loser screaming about how his race is the purest on a song, but some of these dudes are organizing with nazis that fucking kill people.
Take it seriously in that regard at least. |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | Very great point. The site I mentioned does a good job of specifying who has only said sus things and who has DONE sus things too. |
Egarran
06.23.22 | If they have to talk religion, I prefer my bands to talk about Christianity |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | It's certainly preferable to hate speech although I'd personally prefer neither of the two especially given how they sometimes overlap. |
Cimnele
06.23.22 | i have to admit I just straight up dodge BM all together now and for mostly this reason
kinda wanna listen to Lamp of Murmuur sometime, though, they're high on my eventual list when the genre becomes less icky |
Intothepit
06.23.22 | "The older I get the more I am willing to just separate the songs from the artist’s political shit"
Separating the art from the artists is just another way of staying complicit. |
pjquinones747
06.23.22 | yeah Cimnele honestly there's only a few black metal bands i still keep up with, most have leaned into other genres at this point. |
botb
06.23.22 | I’m not out here listening to anything that has horribly problematic lyrics because lyricism is important to me but listening to something by Drudkh isn’t going to bother me the same way listening to like… Disma does. |
CaliggyJack
06.23.22 | I have an easier time listening to problematic lyrics if they're in another language cuz I can't understand them |
botb
06.23.22 | I mean more like I have an easier time listening to stuff with lyrics from poems than lyrics written by a dude who is loudly and proudly a neo nazi but yeah pretty much |
Egarran
06.23.22 | >Separating the art from the artists is just another way of staying complicit.
I'm a pinko hippie and I like me some questionable artists.
I accept this complicitness for the sake of awesome art. Those artists are just ignorant channels of daimonic impulse anyway. |
