Dante's 2018
We're still a couple weeks out before the end of the year, but here's my current list of the top releases of 2018.
No particular order. Subject to change. |
1 | | Harms Way (USA-IL) Posthuman
Simplistic. Mechanical. Crushing. Brutal. Work-out music for bro's who want to get their violence on. |
2 | | Vexes Ancient Geometry
Pure Deftones rip-off, but a good reminder that nu-metal can still be a thing. |
3 | | Sleep The Sciences
How many years since their last release? Incredible album from a group that isn't showing even the slightest bit of rust. Monolithic and groovy. |
4 | | Kanye West ye
After listening to this album multiple times, it's pretty clear to me that the only reason people might dislike this is because of their personal dislike of West. |
5 | | KEN mode Loved
Reminds me too much of Coalesce. Also, "KEN Mode" is still the worst band name of all time. Side note: Album artwork of the year. Holy fuck. |
6 | | Pig Destroyer Head Cage
They go full metalcore, which pisses off the purists, and makes me love it all the more. |
7 | | Gouge Away Burnt Sugar
It's so refreshing that it's 2018 and hardcore can still be taken to new heights. |
8 | | Ice Nine Kills The Silver Scream
It's so refreshing that it's 2018 and metalcore can still be taken to new heights. |
9 | | Daughters You Won't Get What You Want
What a fucking album... Just when you thought Daughters were goners they go off and release arguably their magnum opus. I'm sure it's gonna be another 10 years before we here from them again, though... |
10 | | Earl Sweatshirt Some Rap Songs
Madvillain if Madlib and DOOM were still relevant. |
