|First List in a Year and a Half|
Took a year off... been lurkin' for a few months. So here's a list of some vinyl-gets during those months. Not including splits, 10"s and 7"s.
|1||Death Cab for Cutie|
Something About Airplanes
Favorite Death Cab album believe it or not...
|2||Sole and the Skyrider Band|
Sole and the Skyrider Band
Used copy. Was really cheap, like $10 or so.
|3||Creedence Clearwater Revival|
Chronicle, Vol. 1
Did a college report on these guys years back. All the hits.
A Profound Hatred Of Man
Actually a compilation LP of this and Hearts Once Nourished With Hope... black/grey mix I believe.
|5||The Starting Line|
Say It Like You Mean It
A Drive-Thru records re-issue. Kinda expensive, too: like $35 or so? High school jams.
The latest GFK. Not his greatest but still leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.
Took awhile to find this at one of the record stores I frequent. She can't go wrong in my book.
Cowboys from Hell
First dip into Pantera (I know, I know...). Not that impressed. Great gatefold double LP packaging on a thick, stoughton-tip jacket for a fairly affordable price (around $25).
Their latest album. Not the best thing ever but worth the price paid... around $12 or so?
Under the Sign of the Black Mark
Great re-pressing of a classic primal BM album.
Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
One of my original must-haves when starting my record collecting habits. Spend a good amount of cash on this... wanted to make sure the quality of the pressing was pristine.
The record store got like 10 copies of these... were practically giving them away.
24 of Hank Williams' Greatest Hits
Country music at a more "pure" form. Great cooking music, too!
Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God
Cheap used copy in excellent condition. Colorway is a blue/black splatter, second or third press I believe.
How I Got Over
Cheap as well. Not the best condition but it actually winds up enhancing the sound instead of detracting from it.
First official dip into Ulcerates catalogue. Extremely impressed for a 3-piece.
|18||Motion City Soundtrack|
Commit This To Memory
10-year anniversary re-press on clear/pink colorway. 1/400 pressed.
Still Nothing Moves You
Red pressing of Ceremony's second LP. Before they started going post-punk, 70s hardcore.
|20||Polar Bear Club|
The Redder, The Better
Band can do no wrong in my opinion.
Long Live Rock & Roll
Classic Dio-fronted groups are the best. RIP
|22||Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross|
Everything they touch is gold.
Been meaning to buy this the year is came out. Finally bit the bullet. Sounds incredible on record, much different experience then digital.
|26||Heaven and Hell|
The Devil You Know
Final Dio-fronted album with the best of Sabbath behind him. A bit more modern "doom" sounding record but still a hell of an album.
Primitive and Deadly
A bit of a grower but a great album nonetheless... Indie purple/green/blue colorway.
Gilead Media did a terrific job on the packaging and mastering of this. Highly recommended if only for that alone.
When All Became None
Great sludge/doom/death metal. First LP
Second LP. Everything their first did but better. The Flenser really hit it out of the park with this one.
Great Bringer of Night
Older compilation material.
War of All Against All
Parasitic Records always go overboard on their packaging. Huge-ass, NSFW poster, gatefold LP with all new artwork.
Japanese pressing w/obi strip.
Latest LP on clear record. Heavy and brutal af
'69 bluesy supergroup. Highly recommended.
Victory records re-press. High school jams.
A clear/red re-press through Bridge 9 records. Hardcore classic.
Tierra Y Libertad
The latest on grey colorway. A great beat-down record.
...The Beat Goes On
Best Blacklisted before they started going all existential.
Stench of Exist
AOTY so far for me on clear purple colorway. Neo-folk ambient.
|41||High on Fire|
Art of Self-Defense
Southern Lord re-pressing on purple colorway. Practically giving it away for $10. Double LP on stoughton-tip gatefold jacket.
|42||August Burns Red|
A Black Friday RSD exclusive on clear/orange colorway. High school jam.
First press bought in time for the II re-press Deathwish is doing.
Eden Sank to Grief
Did a review for this album
All Hail the Void
Honestly a better album than their first.
La Fin Absolue Du Monde
Doesn't quite live up to expectations, but a quality metalcore album regardless.
Took a long time to track a copy of this down. I think the record company that put this out went under or something? 180 gram record.
The College Dropout
Finally re-pressed this with a decent mastering. Cheap too!
SMLXL vinyl exclusive... can probably still find copies of it. Not the best mastering but good enough. On a coke bottle green clear colorway.
|50||Taking Back Sunday|
Tell All Your Friends
Another Victory Records re-pressing. High school jams.
1/500 pressed on a pretty cool picture disc. Not a huge proponent of picture disc's but the band is worth it.
|52||Birds in Row|
You, Me, and the Violence
Finally found the time and money to purchase this.
|53||Birds in Row|
|54||My Chemical Romance|
Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Hot topic exclusive on blood red/clear splatter colorway. These thing dried up fast so super glad to have nabbed a copy before they went away.
|55||My Chemical Romance|
The Black Parade
Same, but on bone/black splatter.
Believe this is the 'Earth' colorway. Really cheap too, only like $12 or something.
|57||Falls of Rauros|
Believe in No Coming Shore
Have been trying to track a copy of The Light The Dwells In Rotten Wood to no avail just yet... plenty of copies of this around though! Terrific album!
Paranoid Delusions/Paradise Illusions
Found this in understock at the record store believe it or not! $5! Good lord.
Shades of Blue
Blue Note records been re-releasing their discography the coming months. Going to try to keep up with it.
