My Top 2017 Albums

Since I've been doing reviews for a while, I decided to put up my top picks from last year. Feel free to critique it as you please, suggest albums, or re-rank them to your system.
1Movements
Feel Something

This album surprised me most of all. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. Great lyrics, instrumentals, and overall concept. Can't wait to see 'em at this years Warped Tour.
2Manchester Orchestra
A Black Mile to the Surface

Extremely moving album with phenomenal storytelling. I loved it from start to finish. If not for this band, I must say, I would have never given indie rock a chance those years ago.
3Starset
Vessels

I've been following Starset since their debut and haven't lost touch with 'em. They have a great concept and unique sound. Although this album is overstuffed and modernized, I don't find myself skipping anything. Still a great record start-to-finish.
4Glassjaw
Material Control

Glassjaw proves after 15 years they can kick it better than *any* post-hardcore band alive. This was a great surprise and hope we don't wait another 15 years for a sequel.
5Rise Against
Wolves

Rise Against are one of my favorite bands and have (mostly) enjoyed their releases. Although "Wolves" wasn't as angry as I hoped for. I wasn't disappointed with the content and is one of my favorites from 2017.
6Can't Swim
Fail You Again

One of the more obscure releases from Pure Noise, "Fail You Again" was an album I found by accident. Swapping between indie, emo, and punk, Can't Swim proves for a captivating group who have a great future ahead.
7AFI
AFI (The Blood Album)

AFI are kicking it right with "The Blood Album." Although nothing ground breaking, "The Blood Album" is a decent listen if nothing else.
8Marilyn Manson
Heaven Upside Down

"Heaven Upside Down" was primed to launch a new wave of Manson after "Pale Emperor" left us speechless. Although not as raw or straightforward as its predecessor, "Heaven Upside Down" is far from a waste of time.
9Nothing More
The Stories We Tell Ourselves

"Jenny" is one of the greatest songs I've heard in recent years, and their debut was stronger than ever. Although not as grand as "Nothing More," "The Stories we Tell Ourselves" analyzes our society through a foggy but honest lens.
10Creeper
Eternity, In Your Arms

Creeper hit the scene loud enough for everyone to hear. Although unoriginal at times, "Eternity, in Your Arms" proves, if nothing else, punk isn't dead just yet.
