THIS one is my most recent of the 5. One of the few djent songs that still really gets me. This band died when Michael Barr left.

Love On Repeat
(coldheaven)

Really enjoyed this song. I initially had the impression that this band was some sort of spoken word post-hardcore in the vein of La Dispute so they've either evolved a lot over the years or I was pretty wrong. This was the first track I came across so I might end up revisiting to give deeper thoughts. Very catchy on first impression, though. High re-listenability.
9Dance Gavin Dance
Dance Gavin Dance

Hot Water on Wool
(coldheaven)

One of my favorite DGD songs.
10Whirr
Sway

Mumble
(coldheaven)

The mellow vibe of this one was very refreshing. Reminded me of the Title Fight, Hundredth, Balance and Composure vein of shoegaze-influenced indie rock.

Joy
(SteakByrnes)

Went into this track expecting some bland djent per the band page, but was pleasantly surprised. Nice melodies and great composition. Not sure if this is the kind of tune I'd return to, seeing as I spent far too much time listening to this genre at one point in time and it ruined it for me for the most part, but this was a good song by a talented group of musicians.

A very good Coheed track! And a banger to see live.

Melba
(DinosaurJones)

This is my first time hearing Jeff Rosenstock and I'll definitely be returning for more. I had gotten the impression that his tunes would be in the vein of The National or something, but this is far more upbeat and on the nose (in a good way). Given all the hype he gets on Sput I think I'm long overdue some more exposure.

Out of the Blue
(Doofus Wainwright)

A very unique song by a very unique band. I'd be interested to hear if the rest of their material has the particular quirk that I took away from this one. Dare I put them in league with Vampire Weekend in terms of "quirkiness"? These are sub-genres that are all unknown to me. Enjoyable nonetheless.

Now THIS is a fucking BANGER. I gotta get more into her tunes. I was jamming hard immediately when the track came on. Color me impressed.

Still don't get the hype behind these guys. *insert Paramore clone comment here*

(BlazinBlitzer)

Very different from my usual digs, but a nice listen. The second half got really catchy and I really enjoyed the ride up. I think a band this peculiarly different from what I generally listen to deserves deeper digging. Appreciate the rec, Blitzer!

Visceral, daunting, and unforgiving. Loved this track. Rode the line of all the old metalcore greats like Norma Jean, late Underoath, and The Chariot without sounding like their simply rehashing the successful formula. I'll be listening to this album and I'm sure I'll love it.
