10.15.13 | @wanderlust thank you my life is now validated |
berlin1973
10.15.13 | Red is a very good album but it's a little bit overrated... I do like it but the first albums are the first (Islands is not that good, though): I would have put more songs from "In the wake of Poseidon"... |
berlin1973
10.15.13 | yep... 7 must be higher [2] |
Gard3n
10.15.13 | 13 must be much higher. |
berlin1973
10.15.13 | 13 is probably in my top 3 |
sumyunguy
10.15.13 | 11 is 1 |
Chortles
10.15.13 | Great choices, missing matte kudesai though |
Muisc4Life26
10.15.13 | Awesome list! 3 is my favorite. |
JaySpiral
10.16.13 | I wish Lizard would have stuck with the theme in the first section. The first section has such a great chorus and the rest is just boring. |
menawati
10.16.13 | nice list
Give a listen to the version of Larks IV on the Happy With What You Have EP it'll be in your top 10 its frippin' brutal |
Gard3n
10.16.13 | "I wish Lizard would have stuck with the theme in the first section. The first section has such a great chorus and the rest is just boring."
No way. "Lizard" is perfect, every part of it is... |
tommygun
10.16.13 | cool |
Jethro42
10.16.13 | Very nice list
mine would include
Pictures of a City
Indiscipline
Startori in Tangier
Waiting Man
|
menawati
10.16.13 | yeh tangier is awesome |
Friday13th
10.16.13 | Tangier? Which album is that from? I've only heard up to Discipline. |
LittleStranger
10.16.13 | 2 is 1 |
LittleStranger
10.16.13 | 13 could also be 1 |
wacknizzle
10.16.13 | Good list, glad you took a little bit from each album. 7 is a bit low though, that song is so fucking good |
Yazz_Flute
10.16.13 | I'd include The Talking Drum, Indoor Games, The Sheltering Sky, and Matte Kudesai at least. Starless is definitely my number 1 though. |
Friday13th
10.16.13 | @Yazz_Flute yeah dude good tunes those were in the running. |
GnarlyShillelagh
10.16.13 | 1 is 1 agreed
is the title song on "starless and bible black" just named after 1 or is it like the same song |
Polyethylene
10.16.13 | No Formentera Lady or Sailor's Tale, no cigar |
TronaldDump
10.16.13 | List is missing The Night Watch. But 1 is definitely 1 and 3 is definitely 3. |
JamieTwort
10.16.13 | List needs more songs from In the Wake of Poseidon. The title-track and Pictures of a City are easily up there with my favourite KC songs. Cadence and Cascade is one of the weaker tracks on that album imo, still great though.
1 and 3 are my favourites. 1 is definitely 1. |
Realm
10.16.13 | jammin starless right now damn
p hard to rank since crims has like 4 classic albums |
Friday13th
10.16.13 | @GnarlyShillelagh "Starless" was originally called "Starless and Bible Black" but Robert Fripp didn't like the original version
so they just gave that name to an instrumental now known as the title track. They finally fixed it up after SABB was released
so they just named it "Starless." |
Friday13th
10.16.13 | @JamieTwort yeah "Pictures of a City" is good, but I can't listen to "In the Wake of Poseidon" without thinking it's a sorry
clone of "Epitaph." |
mindleviticus
10.16.13 | MOONCHILD |
JamieTwort
10.16.13 | ^lol |
JamieTwort
10.16.13 | "I can't listen to "In the Wake of Poseidon" without thinking it's a sorry clone of "Epitaph."
In my opinion it's still a quality song despite it's similarities to Epitaph (which seem to be exaggerated by some). I'd still rank it in my top 10. |
Nagrarok
10.16.13 | The Devil's Triangle is one of Poseidon's highlights as well. Enjoy it more than both Moonchild and Providence. |
JamieTwort
10.16.13 | ^Yeah that song's probably my third favourite on ITWOP, definitely one of their better improv tracks. |
Emyay
10.16.13 | gonna jam 1 and see if it lives up to the hype |
Realm
10.16.13 | cat food |
Emyay
10.16.13 | after a couple listens of both, i like 7 better than 1 |

TronaldDump
10.16.13 | Cirkus never gets any love :( |
ButteryBiscuitBass
10.17.13 | Cirkus gets all my love |
theTourist
10.17.13 | Awesome list. I'm also a big fan of Matte Kudasai, though it doesn't sound much like the rest of their music. |
Havey
10.21.13 | needs providence but sweet |
McMegaMountain
10.21.13 | Thanks for posting this. I've been meaning to pick up Court for years. Think I'll do that today. |
Friday13th
10.22.13 | @McMegaMountain yeah dude by all means. Get Red also if you find it, but these Crimson albums are hard to get. |
zoso33
10.22.13 | i love me some good king crimson lists...so many good songs to hear |
JamieTwort
10.22.13 | "these Crimson albums are hard to get."
lol hardly, although I suppose it depends on where you are. |
Friday13th
10.22.13 | @JamieTwort I know only one used CD store in my town of about half a million that has some King Crimson. Of course there's the ebay solution :) |
apert
10.22.13 | listening to Starless right now |
JamieTwort
10.22.13 | @Firday13th: Fair enough. Where I live KC are one of the few prog bands I can find in pretty much any CD store. Plus their albums are easy to get (and fairly cheap) on Amazon. |
