| Counterparts Ranked
WOah buddy, haven't been here for awhile. Figured i'd post a worthless list
on you all! Diggin Cunterparts new album so here's a wonderful ranking! | 4 | | Counterparts The Current Will Carry Us
This album didn't do much for me at all. Definitely their most "straight-ahead hardcore"
album, but seemed a little forced and awkward in its's delivery. Contains a few solid
tracks but in my eyes is the low point for the band. | 3 | | Counterparts Prophets
This is the album that reignited my faith in metalcore music. In a genre that was
quickly becoming more and more stale with each major release, Counterparts added
something fresh and unique to the genre while still dishing out some of the most
headbangable breakdowns there are. | 2 | | Counterparts The Difference Between Hell and Home
This is Counterparts most focused LP, due to them embracing all the things that have
worked for them in the past and delivering some truly entertaining guitar riffs in the
process. | 1 | | Exalt Counterparts / Exalt Split
Sure, they only have two songs on here, but the perfect execution of melodic hardcore
showcased in these songs is better than anything else they have produced. Being an EP
that was released after their debut album Prophets, this split really shows the bands
transition from chuggy metalcore to a more focused and emotionally driven style of
hardcore. These songs really made me anticipate a follow up LP, but sadly The Current
Will Carry Us was a slight disappointment due the the fact that they abandoned many
strong aspects found here. | |
