The thing about Somewhere... is that it is way too long for it's own good. I obviously shortened this explanation in my description, but it is very emotionally poignant and if you're going through a breakup it's probably the best album to listen to. However, Dreyer gets really annoying after half an hour and if your heart isn't as broken as his the album loses a lot of its appeal.
Fake History truly is boring guitar-wise. It's very straightforward, and to an excessive extent. There are the obvious exceptions (Muther, Day 54, and whichever of the other tracks happens to be your favorite (I swear everyone has their own, but I digress)) but the rest of the album is very homogenous. You really can't deny that Jason Butler rips off Daryl Palumbo for the majority of the album. He has his own style, but the album is overrated. I like the album, but I figured a negative opinion would be preferential to yet another positive.
I'm sorry, I just don't like Geoff Rickly and that's the reason I don't have any other Thursday. He's just not my cup of tea. |

Dolving, Conversation Piece was pretty bad. I reviewed it, so look there if you want to know why I disliked it. It was a fairly unpopular review because it was an unpopular opinion.

06.26.12 | Recspecs, the point is to be lolsy for the first two. He is Legend was really cool for a while, but they wore off of me. The first song is really sloppily put together (immature) and a lot of the lyrics are blunter than need be. Also, there's no cohesion through the album, and the instruments are very simplistic through most of the album. Somewhere... I explained above. And as for Thursday, well, I don't like Geoff. Sorry.
Six, I like the majority of them. The list is poking fun at all the other lists titled "post-hardcore whatever" and how they seem to just be an inconsistent (and slightly incontinent) pile of albums. |
