Radiohead are an English alternative rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in1984. Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001) marked an evolution in Radiohead's musical style, as the group incorporatedexperimental electronicmusic,Krautrock and jazz influences. Hail to the Thief (2003), a mix of piano and guitar drivenrock, electronics and lyrics inspired by war,wasthe band'sfinal album for their major record label, EMI. Radioheadindependently released their seventh album, In Rainbows (2007), originallyas a digitaldownload for which customerscould set their own price, and later in physical form to critical and chart success. Radiohead releasedtheir eighthalbum, TheKing of Limbs (2011) in a variety of formats.

Radiohead have sold more than 30 million albums. The band's work has been placed highly in both listener polls andcritics' lists. In2005,Radiohead were ranked number 73 in Rolling Stone's list of "The Greatest Artists of All Time". Whilethe band's earlier albums wereinfluential onBritish rock and pop music, musicians in a wide variety of genres have beeninfluenced by their laterwork. « hide
