In the fall of 1998, they released their self-titled debut album, Queens of the Stone Age, which was recordedwithJoshhandlingboth guitarand bassguitar playing duties, Alfredo Hernandez on the drums, and included severalotherinstrumentaland vocalcontributions by ChrisGoss and Hutch. Soonafter the recording sessions were finished for thealbum,former Kyussbassist NickOliveri and guitarist DaveCatching joined and touring commenced.
