Kendrick Lamar

Formerly known as K. Dot, Kendrick Lamar (born June 17, 1987) is a rapper from Compton, California.

His music is influenced by Tupac Shakur, JAY-Z, Rakim, Nas and DMX. He is a member of Black Hippy along with Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q.

He released an EP in 2009 titled Kendrick Lamar EP, and an acclaimed mix tape in 2010 titled O(verly) D(edicated). His debut album Section.80 was released on July 2nd of 2011 and was met with very favorable reviews. However the album was not a chart topper.

good kid, m.a.a.d. city (GKMC) was released under Interscope records in October of 2012 and was produced by Dr. Dre. The album spawned the hit singles, "Swimming Pools (Drank)" "Poetic Justice" and "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe." The album was met with universal acclaim from critics praising it for its intense narrative and rap thrills.
