Iron & Wine is one single person, his name is Sam Beam. Beam started out his career by recording himself on cassettes, and finally found his
way into the
studio. He plays peaceful, mellow acoustic tunes which involve nothing except the acoustic guitar, and the occasional banjo. Beam has
released two albums,
and is one of the major factors in the folk scene today. He has also played with Calexico, and they released an ep which got a little critical
acclaim for its
excellence.
