Immolation

Immolation is a death metal band, formed in 1986 in Yonkers, NY under the name Rigor Mortis. In 1987 theychanged their name to Immolation and they had released a series of demos before signing with RoadrunnerRecords to release their first (and only) album for the label, "Dawn of Possession", widely regarded as a classicof the first wave of death metal. It was a more typical death metal album for the time, although extremelytechnical. Steve Shalaty (ex-Odium, ex-Gutted) stepped behind the kit for"Harnessing Ruin" in 2005 and "Shadows in the Light" in 2007. Lately they have been touring endlessly inEurope and North America. They are currently signed to Century Media.
