soundscapes underlines the artists’ abiding love for all manner of vintage genres, encompassing pop, soul, funk, jazz, Brazilian tropicalia,
Turkish psychedelia, and soundtracks and library music from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.
The two became quick friends 21st century style when AM reached out to Lee by email after hearing his songs on the radio in Los Angeles.
With AM in Los Angeles and Shawn Lee in London the two began bouncing tracks back and fourth resulting in their debut album Celestial
Electric to be released on September 6; a musical match made in cyberspace propelling the duo into their best work yet. AM’s honeyed
vocals ride a driving percussion section straight into walls of shimmering guitars and glassy keyboards pulling elements as disparate as
Gary Numan, Jorge Ben, and Ariel Pink into perfect future pop electro soul.
