Camel is a progressive rock band with some jazz and eastern influences. You could say they sound like Pink Floyd, but not quite - they are similar but have a different and very unique style of music. They manage to play catchy, enjoyable progressive music (might sound like an oxymoron - but its true!) listen to it yourself! This band is easy to get into, especially if you are a fan of prog/jazz, and stuff like pink floyd. Camel has been around since 1971 and still has been making great music for 30+ years (their latest album, A Nod and a Wink, was released in 2002 and there are rumors that a new album is being worked on). There were a lot of members throughout Camel's history, but the first lineup had Peter Bardens (R.I.P.) on keyboards, Doug Ferguson on bass, Andy Ward on drums, and Andrew Latimer on guitar/vocals/flute. The latest lineup includes Guy LeBlanc (keyboards/vocals), Denis Clement (drums), Colin Bass (bass/vocals), and Andrew Latimer (guitars/vocals). « hide |
