Inbetween releasing the hugely successful 'Far Beyond Driven' and the slightly less successful 'Great Southern Trendkill', Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo hooked up with fellow metalheads Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity), Kirk Windstein, Todd Strange (Crowbar) and Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod) for a few informal jams in a garage. These sessions became the 1995 album 'NOLA', which sold 350,000 copies worldwide. They released a follow up, 'Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow', in 2002 and released their third album, 'Down III: Over the Under', five years later.
