All it took was a couple of songs before the throng, almost as one, stood up and headed for the door in disgust. When the feathers had settled from the group's onstage pillow fight, there were only four people left at the memorial concert in honour of haunted monologist Lenny Bruce.

All it took was a couple of songs before the throng, almost as one, stood up and headed for the door in disgust. When the feathers had settled from the group's onstage pillow fight, there were only four people left at the memorial concert in honour of haunted monologist Lenny Bruce.
Their stage act was both wild and fanatical under the philosophy that they had nothing to lose, so they gave it everything from fire extinguishers from their hotel room to an over-blown story of a chicken.
The band debuted with 'Pretties For you' in 1969 and followed it with 'Easy Action' the following year. However, it was the release of their third album 'Love It to Death' two years later, which contained their first well known songs such as 'Ballad of Dwight Fry' and 'I'm Eighteen'.
Alice Cooper started out as the name of the original band but quickly people assumed the lead singer was Alice Cooper. Vincent Furnier, as leader of the band, realized this and legally changed his name to Alice Cooper around 1973. The original band parted ways after the Muscle of Love album and Alice went solo. His first solo album was the classic Welcome To My Nightmare. Since that time, Alice has gone on to record numerous other albums. Some of his better solo albums include Dada, The Last Temptation and Brutal Planet.
Among Alice's biggest hits have been 'Billion Dollar Babies', 'Welcome to My Nightmare', 'Eighteen', 'Poison' and the ever famous 'School's Out'. Alice Cooper, while not as huge as he was in his 70's heyday continues to tour every year and put out quality albums which puts him ahead of many of his peers.
