Overkill are considered by most the be the first Thrash band. They formed in New Jersey around 1980, and started off playing numerous Punk covers, along with Judas Priest and Motorhead covers in their sets which were played with extra distortion, intensity, and concentration on riffs, thus marking Overkill as the first thrash band. Some of the songs that appeared on their Debut, Feel The Fire, such as Rotten To The Core were written as early as 1981/1982.
