The Stooges

The Stooges are often cited as being a major influence to many punk bands in the seventies, along with bands like The MC5 and The Velvet Underground. The Stooges (Then called "The Psychedelic Stooges") first sighed to Elektra Records after The MC5 suggested them to a scout in 1967. They released their debut self titled album in 1969. Although they only recorded three albums together, they remain a very important band. The Stooges have regrouped recently and continue to play shows with Mike Watt of the Minutemen filling in for the late Dave Alexander on bass. There was even reoports for a new album in the works.
