Emerging from a Metallica-cover-band, JeW formed in 1993 in Mesa, Arizona. After their self-titled debut in 1994 and several EPs and
split albums, they released 'Static Prevails' in 1996. In June 1999 'Clarity' was released, but as with the previous album, the label
refused to release it anywhere outside the USA. Fearing they were in danger of being smothered by their label, the band split from them
and organized and funded a European tour by themselves. Fortunately, the band came to the attention of EMI music, and under
Dreamworks the album 'Clarity' was released worldwide, followed by 'Bleed American' (later self-titled after September 11th 2001). 'Bleed
American' was the turning point for the band, receiving massive radio and television play, particularly the radio-friendly single, 'The
Middle'. Their latest album 'Futures' was released in 2004, and also received widespread critical acclaim.
