Review Summary: This is the last album with the Blaze Bayley band, a perfect follow up to The Man Who Will Not Die.
Blaze Bayley, ex-Wolfsbane and ex-Iron Maiden singer came back in 2010 with a second album from his Blaze Bayley Band. This is definitely a good follow up to The Man Who Would Not Die (2008), a very powerful metal LP.
If you want to compare Blaze's new LP with Maiden work you can say that this is heavier and darker version of Maiden's melodic metal. If you liked The Man Who Would Not Die, you will definitely like this LP. The two guitarists still make you headbang and Blaze songwriting still makes you sing with them as soon as you know the lyrics.
This album can be divided in two different parts: The first one being the first seven songs on the album and the second part being the last four songs. The first part consists of the hard-driven power metal with Blaze's sing-along way of singing. The Second part is a more emotional, personal and darker metal, which contains the first acoustic song (Surrounded By Sadness) where Blaze sings about his tragic loss of his wife and what Bayley and his bands had to go through in the music world.
I recommend this album to any metal lovers, who enjoyed the melodic guitars of Iron Maiden, the darker voice of Virtual XI and The X Factor, but also enjoys Power Metal.
