After the departure from Iron Maiden in 1999, a singer Blaze Bayley has put his own band together called B L A Z E, releasing Silicon Messiah (2000) and The Tenth Dimension (2002). A live album follows in 2003 containing songs from the two albums and also some Iron Maiden tracks. After some changes of band members, an album Blood and Belief is released in 2004. The band is renamed to Blaze Bayley in 2007 along with more member changes, and a live show is recorded and released under the title Alive in Poland as a first DVD of the band. The renamed band released two studio albums so far (The Man Who Would Not Die in 2008 and Promise and Terror in 2010) and one live album (The Night That Will Not Die in 2009 on CD and DVD). In 2010, line-up has changed again.
