Review Summary: gimme those old man shreds, baby I’ll admit I’m a Sevendust fan. Every album by them is appealing in their special way, and I love them as a benevolent god would love their children. Get up and smell the roses: Truth Killer is Sevendust’s best album in a minute. Blood and Stone was tight but lacked the X factor, and All I See is War was a bit forgettable. Truth Killer is the return Sevendust have needed, sounding like a mix of Kill the Flaw and Animosity. The heavy punch with bright melodies and harmonies are back successfully, while admitting their pop hook relevance. Truth Killer is everything that the last two albums should’ve been.
Everything is beefed up. Aggressive, yet sinister human crow growls return via drumming man, and they’re possibly his best yet. It gets better though. Somehow Lajon himself - the lead singer - isn’t sounding that old. Also, guitar solos thrive, and heavy riffs abound! The old gang is back to kick ass, and this time with much less pussyfooting. In short, um, a very good Sevendust album that isn’t a lamer one.
We need more bands like Sevendust on this Earth, but there just aren’t, man. So we have Sevendust again, releasing another obviously derivative album, with the catchiest alt metal riffs, making similar bands sound like dog poop. How long can they keep shaking the cosmos? Apparently forever. Long live Sevendust, they deserve the key to their respective cities, and they have also unlocked the key to my soul. Ughgh gross.

This one had a unusually average/meh lead single by Sevendust standards, so I was mildly nervous about this album... turned out to be as good as their usual

They definitely redeemed themselves

I've only spun the singles once or twice so far but I'll listen to the album here soon. It was hard to live up to the one/two punch that was Black out the Sun and Kill the Flaw but the previous two albums were just kind of Sevendust on autopilot.

Album is alright, I don't feel any Animosity vibes here though. It's most a mixture of Black out the Sun and the last two albums. It's hard to complain too much though. While IMO it's still a continuation of the last two albums albeit (slightly) better, 14 albums into a career still sounding pretty good is still a success.

Bruh it’s 100% Animosity vibes. The sound of the geetar, the wah wah, dose sharp melodies and then the sudden transitions to dose fat riffs c’mon bro. Black out the sun though fer sure

@fearlessflyer I was referring to Everything, that was the one that went to rock radio. I didn't listen to Fence before the album came out, but it was quite solid

Couldn't get into it sorry guys. The first track is pretty good and I like some of the riffs but the rest is just kind of boring.
