Lovely ambient electronica and classical pieces - the piano composition Girls is probably the best song on here.

Album is flat and boring, ambient disc has some really nice songs on it.

The version of God Moving Over the Face of the Water here is slightly better than the original, and the remix album is at the very least interesting (some are actually quite good.)
Moby 18 B Sides3.0
The album itself is mediocre, but the accompanying DVD containing weird short films done during touring, Moby's Glastonbury performance, and ~20 remixes makes it worth at least checking out.

For the most part, these covers are very well-done - I'm in an odd spot on this though, having never heard of half of the original songs. Of the ones I can compare, the rendition of Elbow's Mirrorball is just as stunningly beautiful as the original, Talking Heads' paranoid Listening Wind is turned into a story of someone becoming a freedom fighter/terrorist out of desperation (I actually prefer this version), and the climax of the cover of David Bowie's Heroes is wonderful, even if before that point it's rather unremarkable. On a low note, the one terrible cover on here is also the closer, the atrocious cover of Radiohead's Street Spirit (which stings even more since that's the song that got me to buy this album.) Overall, it's an interesting set of reinterpretations mostly done quite well.

Outside of Solsbury Hill and the rather odd Moribund the Burgermeister, nothing on this album really stands out. The original, overproduced version of Here Comes the Flood does provide a good "Wait, what?" reaction from anyone who heard the later lone piano version of the song first.

Perhaps the dullest album I've listened to - I am aware that it IS trance, but each song rarely wavers from sounding exactly the same as the previous. There are a couple that might be worth a listen, but overall avoid this.

Junkie XL Today4.5
Easily the best of JXL's albums, he cuts way back on the synths and straightforward club music to make a mix of clean ringing guitars, hypnotic sounds and energetic drums. Mushroom's gradual build to its shining second half, Such a Tease's shimmering groove and the smooth acoustic and violin interlude of Honey are highlights.
Freezepop Imaginary Friends3.5
Freezepop Future Future Future Perfect4.5
Orbital The Altogether2.0
While the second disc (self-done remixes) is reasonably interesting and the finale of the album itself, Meltdown, possibly being the best song Orbital's ever done, the main body of the album itself is generic at best and irritating for the rest of it. Only buy if you find it somewhere for a cheap price, just for Meltdown and the remix disc.
