Tweedy basically ruined: Muzzle of Bees, Ashes of American Flags, I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, and I'm Always In

Usually hate Young Thug and my goddam roommates never stop playing him... but 1st track off this is 10/10. Maybe this'll

Mac DeMarco This Old Dog3.5
I think that this album has some of the best songs that Mac Demarco has put out. And these songs manage to escape the rtypical 'Mac Demarco' sound. While he should be commended, the album kind of lags at times, which prevents this from rbeing higher than a 4.

Otis Redding Otis Blue: Otis Redding Sings Soul3.5
The National Cherry Tree3.5
Mac DeMarco Salad Days3.5
This is a good bunch of songs that for now I give a 3.5. But give me a full summer of day drinking to this album and I feel this rcould easily be 4.0+ material
The Smiths The Queen Is Dead3.5
Billy Bragg and Wilco Mermaid Avenue Vol. III3.0
Boys, you should've quit while you were ahead with volumes 1 + 2. Although you did bring the world more Woody Guthrie,
which is always a positive. And why does Tweedy only have like 4 songs?

The production on this is just outstanding. Listen to this when you're high, sober, tense, relaxed, etc, etc..
Big Thief Masterpiece4.0
as with Pinegrove's Cardinal, I think this is kind of underrated here
William Tyler Modern Country3.5
An album I imagine you'd put on when you're driving through the barren American landscape at night. Except you'd
probably be lulled to sleep so don't do that.
John Coltrane A Love Supreme3.0
Neil Young Harvest3.5
J. Cole 4 Your Eyez Only3.0

As is the case in Next Thing, Frankie's *le quirky* lyrics fall short and are fairly annoying
Uncle Tupelo March 16 to 20, 19924.0
Townes Van Zandt Our Mother the Mountain4.0
As much as people criticize the extra instruments added to Townes' guitar playing and singing, he sounds pretty dang
good with strings. Examples: Kathleen, St. John
Bruno Mars 24K Magic3.0
All the ballads/slower tracks sound like songs I've heard a million times before. 24K Magic is bitchin tho.

Carly's take on early 2000's alt/contemporary/rock/pop/whatever. It may be kind of poppy but I really dig the vibes given off. Each song is catchier than the next.

Street Scholars The Best Mixtape in 5evar1.0
The Walters Hunk Beach / I Wanna Be Good4.0
Both of these singles rank among the best The Walters have put out.
Radiohead In Rainbows Disk 23.5
These are considerably shittier than the main disk
Plums Jen3.0
This has a few good songs that really rip off Real Estate's style. Sprinkle in a little Mac Demarco and you got yourself an OK hipster EP.
Vampire Weekend Vampire Weekend2.5
The musical embodiment of everything annoying about millenials

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds Skeleton Tree3.0
Brian Eno Ambient 1: Music For Airports3.0
Bon Iver 22, A Million3.5
Good, but I feel like there are hints of this being potentially so much better and developed.rFor example: 45 could've been absolutely astonishing if it was allowed to develop a little bit more.
Danny Brown Atrocity Exhibition3.5
Hey Danny pls use your low rap voice more than your screech
Pinegrove Everything So Far4.5
Pinegrove can do no wrong (already hyped for the follow-up to Cardinal)
Sturgill Simpson Metamodern Sounds In Country Music4.0
August Burns Red Home3.5
The National Trouble Will Find Me4.0
Wilco Star Wars3.5
The Weakerthans Reconstruction Site4.5
I don't know how to explain it, but something about this album is very comforting. It's the musical equivalent of being a kid snuggled up in a warm blanket during December while Christmas lights and classic Christmas movies guide you to sleep.
The Walters Songs For Dads4.0
Wilco Schmilco3.5
Uncle Tupelo Anodyne4.0
Who r all you people rating this a 3.5, what is wrong with you
Laura Stevenson Sit Resist4.0
Radiohead Kid A4.0
It's always interesting to think about how expectations play into the enjoyment of an album. If I expected myself to love this on the first few listens I would've probably rated it lower. But since I thought I wouldn't like this record for a while, now that I finally do I feel I've given it a kinder rating.
Frank Ocean Blonde3.5
Why you always gotta fuck up the flow of your albums by concentrating a shit-ton of skits at certain parts? Why Frank?

EDIT: Also Facebook Story pisses me off every time I hear it

Stretches of greatness but I don't think I quite 'get it' yet. Maybe I never will.

Nothing on here is as good as her verses on Lost and Drown/Finish Line, but it's hard to recreate perfection. Good lyrics
with chill/samey production.

A change in vibe/atmosphere from Alligator and Boxer but it still quintessential The National meaning it still takes a while to warm up to.

David Bowie Aladdin Sane3.5
David Bowie The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars4.0
David Bowie Hunky Dory4.0
Kaytranada 99.9%4.0
All the beats are excellent beats. The majority of the songs with features are excellent (Glowed Up isn't very good). The
atmosphere from song to song, while just different enough, form a nice cohesiveness.
The Tallest Man on Earth The Wild Hunt4.0
Oh, Sleeper Children of Fire3.5
Whitney Light Upon the Lake4.0
Lucinda Williams Car Wheels on a Gravel Road4.0
On paper the songs are all very good, but it just seems to draaaag when listening in one go.
Desiigner New English2.0
A few decent songs intermixed with a lot of trash songs. The interludes are neutral as they don't really fit at all but they're just about the only musically creative moments on the whole tape.
The Hotelier Goodness4.0
Mac DeMarco 24.0
The Band Music from Big Pink3.5
Frank Ocean channel ORANGE4.0
A little bit too much filler and I never got the love for Super Rich Kids.
Flatbush Zombies 3001: A Laced Odyssey3.0
Carly Rae Jepsen Emotion3.5
Some FANTASTIC pop songs on this, but a few too many average songs to bump this up to 4+
Weezer The White Album4.0
Catchier than the blue album but not quite as rewarding of a listen.
PUP The Dream Is Over3.5
The National Boxer4.5
Radiohead A Moon Shaped Pool4.5
The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold as Love4.0
Jay-Z and Kanye West Watch the Throne4.0
Various Artists (Country) Southern Family3.0
Sunhouse Crazy on the Weekend4.0
Pinegrove Meridian4.0
More complex, varied, and emo-sounding than Cardinal but I feel Meridian is worse off without country tinges present on
Cardinal and is less emotional (at least to me). All in all an excellent first LP from Pinegrove.

ANOHNI HOPELESSNESS3.5
I find the lyrics as cringeworthy as much as the next red-blooded Bud drinkin' American male, but something about the
unique voice coupled with the stellar production make this record an intriguing listen.

I Don't Love You Anymore and Why Would You Seperate Me from the Earth on paper don't really seem like something I
would particularly enjoy but they're quite good.
The Hotelier Home, Like NoPlace Is There3.5
Wilco A Ghost Is Born4.5
Chance the Rapper Coloring Book3.5
Take off Mixtape and Smoke Break and this mixtape becomes insanely better.
Walk the Moon Walk the Moon3.0
A Tribe Called Quest The Low End Theory3.5
Undoubtedly some hip-hop classic songs on this but 6/14 songs are pretty eh and sound the same.
Chance the Rapper 10 Day3.5
Sturgill Simpson A Sailor's Guide To Earth4.0
The Pharcyde Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde4.0
Godspeed You! Black Emperor F♯ A♯ ∞3.0
Radiohead OK Computer4.0
I can see why the album is considered one of the best of the 90's, if I had to think of ways to improve it, I don't think I could. It's 'perfect' in that aspect, but this record doesn't speak to me on an emotional/certain time of my life level like others have.
Laura Nyro New York Tendaberry3.0
Frankie Cosmos Next Thing3.5
Vocals feel like they have no life behind them in the worst hipstery way possible. Some of the songs are too short to really
reach their potential. The hook of 'I'm 20' sounds like a toothpaste commercial and the last several songs kind of drop off
in quality

Also @TheManMachine has the best and most unique soundoffs on this site.

Jack's Mannequin Everything in Transit4.5
Music kinda like Weezer but the subject matter is better and the singer doesn't have an extremely punchable bitchface and the name 'Rivers.'
The Jezabels Synthia4.0
Danny Brown XXX3.0
The Beatles The Beatles3.5
Lynyrd Skynyrd Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd4.0
When half the songs can be heard on any classic rock station the album has to be pretty good, right?
Bright Eyes I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning4.0
Kendrick Lamar untitled unmastered.4.5
King Kendrick showing us he not just a 3 album hit wonder and might still have some left in the tank. Prob a 4.5 if Untitled 3
was the same as on the Colbert Show
EDIT: FUCK IT its a 4.5. DAMN. being a disappointment really showed how great Kendrick was during his TPAB sessions.

Drake Take Care3.5
Elliott Smith Either/Or4.0
OutKast ATLiens3.5
J Dilla Donuts3.5
Tycho Dive3.0
The start of the first song is really blissful and might be the high point. It's a good album to do your homework to, but to actively listen to? I'm not so sure.
Pinegrove Cardinal5.0
Old Friends is the kind of song that feels a part of the great american songbook. You feel like you've heard the song
somewhere before, but never as realized or as affecting. The rest of Cardinal isn't too far behind.
Joni Mitchell Blue4.0
More than other albums from this time period, this seems like the record that all the cool kids in the early 70s were
listening to.
Anderson .Paak Malibu4.0
.Paak should not have released this in January, this thing has summer vibes to the max.

Fleetwood Mac Rumours4.0
Nobody really seems to mention You Make Loving Fun, but it's the best song on here. Dreams is a close second. The album is all around great but for some reason the male singer's voice kind of annoys me.
Wilco Being There4.5

Madvillain Madvillainy4.0
Didn't understand the hype at first but rapid fire shorter songs and chaotic production work well.
Carole King Tapestry4.5
Near perfection. All of the songs (although not too fond of the title track) are both beautiful and able to convey the late
60's early 70's aesthetic as well as any other album.
American Football American Football3.5
My Bloody Valentine Loveless3.5
The general sound is good but gets boring long before the 48 minute runtime is up. I EVEN LISTENED TO THE WHOLE THING WHILE HIGH, but alas, I got bored halfway through. Come in Alone is a standout. I give it a 5 for creativity and a 3 for enjoyment.
Weezer Weezer4.0
Van Morrison Moondance4.0
Wilco Yankee Hotel Foxtrot5.0
Probably the best album of all time.
Big K.R.I.T. K.R.I.T Wuz Here4.0
Big Krits best. Hometown Hero is amazing. As the album goes on it evolves into a very good, night-time sounding brand of southern rap.
Kanye West Yeezus3.0
Overrated. The best songs on this showcase Kanye's pre-Yeezus side rather than his new Yeezus industrial side aside from I'm In It and Black Skinhead. On Sight and Send It Up join Barry Bonds and Drunken Hot Girls as trash-tier Kanye.
Kendrick Lamar Kendrick Lamar3.0
BEYONCE IS ONE OF THE BEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. Decent music from Kendrick before becoming rap royalty. I think he mentioned 'good kid mad city' in one of the songs, so its interesting to see that particular concept was in Kendrick's brain from the beginning.
Third Eye Blind Third Eye Blind4.0
Big K.R.I.T. ReturnOf4eva3.5
Hop Along Painted Shut4.5
While the highs may not be as high and the songs not as dynamic as the previous album, this time around Hop Along rocks your socks off for 40 straight minutes with very few missteps.
Run the Jewels Run the Jewels4.0
I haven't felt this hard blasting rap music out the car since 36 chambers. And this time one of the rappers is white! Everything's coming up Milhouse!
Counting Crows August And Everything After4.5
Brand New Deja Entendu3.5
Tigers on Trains Grandfather4.0
Why does nobody talk about The Silk Road? Musically, it's gorgeous. The lyrics talk about death and invoke fantastical imagery of journeys on the silk road and being buried off the coast of Mozambique. It gives off a feeling of peace and beauty and fantasy surrounding death, which really speaks to me. As a 20 year old, death seems far off and not real, but if I'm ever on death's door, I think I'll try to listen to this song and I think it'll be comforting in a way not many other things could be. r

Laura Nyro Gonna Take a Miracle3.5
Laura Nyro Eli and The 13th Confession4.0
This record starts off with a BANG with three fast-paced varied songs and then slows down and speeds up throughout the rest. When Laura is ON she makes some of the best music I've ever heard. Her voice is very distinct and I can see how some may not like it, but I dig it.
Bon Iver For Emma, Forever Ago4.5
Kendrick Lamar Section.804.0
Some say that this eclipses GKMC and TPAB but I don't see it. I do think that this shows his immense potential that he
would later capitalize on in his next albums.

Also: K Dot watchu thinking by putting out songs like Tammy's Song and Spiteful Chant?
Steely Dan Aja4.0
Rae Sremmurd SremmLife3.5
Best album to party too. Hands down. H20 LEAN SAME THING.

Chance the Rapper Acid Rap4.0
If Nana and Smoke Again weren't on this easy 4.5. The production is fantastic, gives off a amateur(in the best way)/forward thinking vibe. I think looking back this will be seen as influential.

Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy4.5
Consistently good but never great. Power and All of the Lights are amazing poppier cuts while Monster and Hell of a Life are darker and harder. The vocals to Devil In a New Dress don't do justice to the beat. Runaway and Blame Game are both immensely beautiful but a little long for their own good. Lost in the World is fantastic and outside the box. It's a great record but lacks that little extra 'umph'/'it factor' that would make it amazing.
Kanye West Late Registration4.0
Jay-Z Reasonable Doubt4.0
The Smith Street Band No One Gets Lost Anymore4.5
Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)4.5
I started listening to this the summer after my senior year of HS and GOT DAM WAS I THE HARDEST MUTHERFUCKER AROUND BLASTING THIS WITH MY WINDOWS DOWN
Kanye West The College Dropout5.0
While everyone and their mother label Kanye "not the most technical rapper," Kanye, at least on this record, always has
something substantial to say. And his signature soulful production hasn't been bested since. Not by Kanye or anyone else.

Alter Bridge AB III3.5
Porcupine Tree In Absentia4.0
There Will Be Fireworks The Dark, Dark Bright5.0
The Mars Volta De-Loused in the Comatorium4.0
A record of very interesting and chaotic music and lyrics. This has just the right amount of melody and dissonance. The concept of being in a coma and trapped in a hospital are very scary to me so this can sometimes bring out a feeling of anxiety and fear, which is always a plus .
Nas Illmatic4.5
back when i thought i was black, this shit right here gave myself all the reason i needed to think that i was about that life. 36 chambers? that shit was too fkin hard for me. but this shit? thats that shit.

The Reign of Kindo The Reign Of Kindo4.5
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here4.0
Hard to find a lot of faults with this. Welcome to Machine has kind of a different vibe than the rest and is a little long, but the Shine-ons are beautiful and the remaining two songs are rock classics.
